Ford called me about my Z the other day. Apparently Nissan gave them the same runaround about the transmission being "normal." The tech goes..."why'd Jalopnik write up the MT82 and leave this be":roflpuke2:

I actually found NNA to be relatively helpful if you whine. Nissan offered to replace my trans, just took a while to get there. At that point, I was getting rid of the car anyways.

Your dollies were always quiet, considerate tea party guests, but you have to admit they were always a little lacking on the conversational skills. Share your cucumber sandwiches with a more animated audience at Virginia's beautiful Historic Rosemont Manor with today's dainty deal.

Take a tour of the 200 year old mansion where past US Presidents and celebrities frequented. Then sip fruit infused teas, and nosh on three courses of finger sandwiches, pastries, and chocolates at the manor alone for just $29 (regularly $60); or bring along some non-fabric friends for a full on tea party of ten people for $285 (regularly $600) or for 20 guests for $550 (regularly $1,200). Then enjoy some non-imaginary fun by touring the elegant 1811 estate. Sitting cross-legged on your childhood bedroom floor was all well and good, but this grown up tea party is a serious upgrade.

Dan, I didn't know you actually called NNA and complained about your tranny in the Z. Did your tranny actually perform worse than the "common/normal" grinding, rattling, looseness, etc that we all had in our manual Z's?

When I owned the Z, I figured it's just normal and didn't bother to say anything.

I had enough issues that Nissan got to calling me every once in a while to make sure things were OK. I will say that while their customer service absolutely sucked initially, they did pick it up towards the end.

Mine was mostly me being frustrated with the grittiness of the trans, though I was prompted to call because of the 5th gear grind as well.

I have owned all three, so more than happy to answer any questions you have.

Thanks. I have been a little sketchy, being an import fan, going to mustang forums, but luckily the370z has plenty support for subie and stangs. The s2000 guys are pretty helpful. and obviously the370z is the best car forum i've come across, the close second being the pontiac fiero guys. (kinda still miss that car).

I do a lot of TSB and claims sorting, as well as incentives, and deals that come along. luckily my girlfriend of two years' father works for ford so new may very well be a more attractive than usual option with the 5.0

the stang hurts my head. the 5.0 is something-even with the auto-that i thought i would never find in a mustang! its really quite nice, didn't get a chance to really play around with sync. it seams that it may beat out the Z in reliability. if not solely for the fact ford seems actually interested in working out the kinks.

But I always go back to that s2000. not the hottest girl at the club, but you can be damn sure she is the freakiest. honestly this little 4 cyl girl has an x factor.

looks definately go to the Z, and my girlfriend will definitely approve of the Z. she thinks the s2k is ugly( i didn't push the issue like i wanted) and she doesn't understand the dif between the 5.0 and a dishwasher.

Winter driving in wisconsin is kinda an issue.

*sigh*
