I'm trying to drive the Shelby of one of the CPTs in my unit has. But he's out of town right now.

test drive both. go to the dealer, and just do it.

:icon18: This. Test drive either one. You'll be pleased. The Shelby is like the 5.0, only on steroids. IMO, it looks better, has a more aggressive suspension tune, has a better tranny, and of course, has wayyyyy more power and torque you will ever need.

I would have bought the Shelby of course, no doubt. But I can't afford it just yet. It will be my next car... probably when I turn 40.

Bottomline, you can't go wrong with either one, obviously. The 5.0 is already such a great car.

Dan, on another note, I got your pm. That dude is hilarious. I will respond.

there should be one you can test drive closer. you don't have to buy the first one you drive.

That's KONA BLUE sir ;) and the best color mind you hehe.

Is that for a coupe or vert? That doesn't even include negotiations yet. For that matter, why locate one? Just order new...that's what I did. Made in just the way I like it.

Dan, I forgot to tell you btw, I sprung for HID/security pkg!!! :tiphat:

I figured I only had one shot at this, and why not get the car I really want. I got spoiled with all the HID's from my other cars. Going back to Halogen was probably not a good idea. The Comfort pkg I didn't get... don't need heated as I never drive it in winter.

first one i test drove was HID/comfort/401a/shaker1000. wound up getting 400a with RR and I'm pretty happy. I actually had better visibility with the halogens, but my eyesight is kinda weird...i like the look of the hids much better though

m4a1mustang 10-17-2011 09:39 PM

I actually like the look of the halogens better. Glad I had the choice to get the car without the HIDs.

That's interesting. Maybe the halogens are that good...

Btw, here's the black shelby coupe we test drove at lunch today. Damn, what a sweet car. The biggest shock to me is still how smooth that tranny was. Smoother than 5.0. The clutch was softer than 5.0. Also, the car had EIGHT miles when we drove it. LOL.

8 miles. There is supposed to be some sort of break in on the gt500s where they can't go full boost until a certain number of miles.

Yes 8. Well, now there's 18 or so. LOL. Neither my buddy or I even attempted to step on the throttle beyond 1/2 way. There was no way. He and I were already spinning from traffic lights, etc. There was just SO much power. It was insane. In a good way of course.

Btw, Dan or Steve, have you guys seen this knob? I'm actually debating this over the MGW shifter I can get. It appears to be a kona blue knob lol... from grabberpony.com
