Interesting. Definitely the non-Brembo cars then as we get the GT500/Boss LCAs.

Well with any aftermarket suspension there you would.

Even still, the Brembo package is worth it for the wheels, tires, brakes, and TC/SC calibration alone.

Unless you're gonna replace it all anyways:p

Ok guys... know what I did for lunch?

I test drove a black 2012 Shelby GT500.

Let's just say, I ALMOST cancelled my order for a 5.0 and put one in for the Shelby. Luckily, I value my marriage.

LOL.

that Shelby was UNf******ngbelievable. That torque. Oh god that torque. And that SHIFTER. What IS that shifter on there? That was the best shifter i've ever driven. WAY better than stock GT 5.0 shifter. I hope my MGW mod will be like that.

Also, suprisingly the clutch on the GT500 was LIGHTER than the GT... who woulda thunk.

Then after the drive, I sat there rev'd that engine again. I hope my 5.0 with GT500 will sound like that. My goodness. Nothing sounds like a Ford V8. Nothing.

Cornered very flat... I'd never see the limits of it as I don't track, but still. Felt tighter than Z even. Definitely harsher than 5.0.

And the LOOKS of it. So sexy. In a I want to eat you up and spit you out kind of way.

Anyway sticker was 53k, they were gonna give it to me for 48k...... no negotiations yet even. I'm that good. LOL.

My buddy with a Vette who was thinking about a grand sport now is thinking about the Shelby instead. Kudos to Ford for converting EVERYbody. LOL.

Man quit adding to my frustration over what I need to do. As far as marriage goes my wife took me to the dealership to look at the Shelbys. So much going on in my head I don't know what to do.

The GT500 uses a Tremec transmission with a true direct-input shifter. The 5.0 uses the Getrag MT82 which is a remote mount so it doesn't feel as direct (because it's not) when stock. I'm sure the MGW box will change that.

Haha sorry man. But I speak the truth. Have u ever driven one? A 5.0? Or the shelby? I u haven't driven a shelby, don't. U will end signing. Lol. But sounds like ur wife is allowing u to get a new shelby???? If so, jump buddy. The shelby is THAT good.

that makes sense Steve. I forgot about the different tranny for the shelby, its tremec. But it just felt so good man. Have u or Dan driven a shelby? Try to ;)

BTW, I spoke to mgw, they are shipping next week. Wootwoot. Also I asked him about how it will feel after install, comparing std 5.0 to shelby stock. He said should be better than stock shelby even....should be even smooooother. I'm stoked.

Btw, should I buy the optional heat shield? I already bought the mgw shiftknob too ;) he said the heat shield is to further isolate heat and sound. But i kindda want to hear my exhaust inside car... Lol. Heat shield is 25 bucks. Yay or nay?

Which one the 5.0 or Shelby?

I'm trying to drive the Shelby of one of the CPTs in my unit has. But he's out of town right now.

test drive both. go to the dealer, and just do it.

The best deal I've found a Shelby is a dark blue with STV and Nav for $53k. The USAA pricing is almost $57k. Only problem is that it's 10 hrs away.
