So the dealer is asking $63000 on a 2012 GT500 that MSRPs for $57000? WTF in the mark up. Theyve the same 3 since they shipped in the summer. It not like they're flying off the lot.

Gotta negotiate!
|
Ok they start at $63000 and I'll start at $1

Yes I am. And I may see if anyone will bite on the USAA pricing
|
That's what I would do.

We'll see

They will tell you the participating dealers so it should be pretty easy as long as you like the pricing.

Yeah I learned my lesson with dealers and USAA pricing. If there is anything different about the car you put together on USAA and the car on the lot they will try to renege on the USAA price. I can build the Shelby from memory that they had at the lot

I've been looking at USAA and put in my zip code and a Zip code from San Antonio. San Antonio being my hometown and USAA HQ location. Both are giving a "target" price and not a "USAA" price like before. Maybe USAA didn't get Shebly pricing or dealers in those areas? It's target price is is around $56000. And USAA is claiming a trade in value on my car of $33500. I know that's high.

If I got 1 today it would have been silver with recaro seats STV package and nav. MSRP was $57535 and they had a dealer sticker of $62,900.

The RX-8 when it first came out had a mark up price. :shakes head: I believe the Corvette ZR1 or Z06 also had a mark up price back in 2008. Don't know why because like you said "they are or were not flying of the lot". |
When I bought my 370Z it had a markup of $5,000 over sticker on the car. I laughed! Ended up paying $1000 under invoice back in March 2009 when they had only been out a couple months!
I think if you do your work you can get a good deal on a new GT500. |
