Ferrari Maintenance Program
Looks like Ferrari will be offering 7 years of free scheduled maintenance to anyone who buys a new 2012 Ferrari. I think this is awesome and definitely a step towards making exotics somewhat more affordable (). Now we just need the other exotic car companies to do the same *cough*Lamborghini*cough*.

I sure as hell would not buy a 5 year-old Ferrari at present because of all the **** coming due. But If this were the case, it would be a VERY viable option because all that stuff would a) not be "stacked up" waiting for the new owner and b) you would get at least 2 years of pure enjoyment without "hidden" expense. At which time you could sell it, or pony up and maintain. |

Not now, but hopefully I will in a couple of years. About to start my last year as an engineering student and hoping to get a job at Exxon when I graduate. If I can get that job (which from what I've heard pays 6 figures just starting) it shouldn't be a problem.
I wasn't planning on getting a new one, just like a 5 year old used one. If they do this same sort of thing and have it transferrable, it would definitely increase the chances of me getting one. I know realistically I may never get one, but I can still dream for now |

IMO, you don't buy a Lambo if you can't afford the lifestyle that comes with it.....and by that I mean that you need to be making well into the 6 figure territory or even in the 7 figures. You don't want to have to worry about a car that's worth more than your salary.

More realistically though, I will probably end up with a GT-R. |

Not trying to hate on daydreaming man. I dream of owning an exotic everyday, and I hope that one day I will. I'm just saying, cheaper maintenence doesn't negate the fact that you still have to worry about the car if it were to be damaged etc. I personally would feel a lot more comfortable owning a $300,000 asset (besides a house) if I could afford not to care as much about it.

Indeed, a GTR is still a head turner, and a lot more practical.

Al, look at the fire in Shahid's eyes when he's talking about those cars. He's already way beyond daydreaming about these cars; our broski is a winning winner He's going to make it happen.
