lowering a car helps its aerodynamics, but race tracks have the advantage of always being flat.

Also, on a bit of a tangent, for those of you who think that AWD automagically means "safe in winter", if you imagine that curb as a chunk of packed snow, this is why ground clearance is an important part of the safety equation.

That's why WRC cars are ANYTHING but low.

LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THOSE WHEEL GAPS!

Yeah, if I get my 2004-2005 WRX, it's a winter snow car and I'm not gonna even gonna lower it at all for this same reason. Plus, I might have to move up north or mid-west in a few years due to job reasons. So a low 370z in Winter is like....DEATH.

I'm not gonna lie. I like the dumped look. But it just isn't practical.

The fender wells are elongated on the Subaru WRC. Look at a stock one:

It's honestly about the same ride height (plus or minus an inch), but the wheel well configuration on the WRC allows for more suspension travel.

He would have saved a bunch of money had he called 2theextreme about his air ride suspension :)

Poor guy, you could see him blush a mile away and try hard to swallow his embarrassment as his friends made fun of him. "Where is the sticky on how to get out of parking?"

da mayor 07-15-2011 01:19 PM

i would've laughed if he did gun it

90 ST 07-15-2011 01:59 PM

how did he get up there in the first place, you would think he would have figured out the car is to low then...

Dark Sarcasm 07-15-2011 06:26 PM

limited slip diff would have helped

lol I know that car. The owners name is Nico, and the kid with the camera around his neck is Anthony Lezada. I love that Celica! Anthonys Matrix has gone through at least 13 axles from being so low. Savage!

The car was parked up there for a photo shoot, but I can't find a link to the shots right now.

Here's some recent shots Anthony took of his Matrix and Nicos Celica.

Guys like this take pride in their cars being this low, all the time. No air ride. No raising the car during the week. Low is a lifestyle :)
