for a DD the auto with the cylinder shut down = nice.

its still got alot of pep and you still have a ton of mods available for it.

You ureally should go test drive one before you cross it of for thinking its some big bulky car.

When i was looking for a car, i was cross shopping corvette, g8 gxp and 370z. Just to give an idea of how much fun it is to drive.

P.S buy one in black and then give it gold accents. I heard thats quite popular thing to do in MD.

It's not out of the running, although it's a bit heavy.

I actually bought a GTI this february. Get an APR chip they have about 2 specials every year and you can get your tune good for 70 tq and 40 hp roughly. not bad for 700 bucks installed and still pretty reliable. Not that expensive to mod and good handling for a FWD. Not to mention DSG since it is a DD.

Have to test driven these?

I kept GTI MK5 for over two years excellent car and very reliable even in this heat, have driven Focus ST few times as well its better then GTI but more inline with Sti for not being a DD.

Do you guys have VW R32 over there that is yummy

Test drove a few last year before buying the Z. I tested the GTI, MS3, WRX, and a few others.

Ford hasn't released a Focus ST yet in the states. It's supposed to come out next year.

We had a VW R32 several years back, but I'm looking for a new car, and VW is supposed to put out a Golf R soon, which is AWD and should be better than the R32 (lighter I4 that's more powerful than the V6).

interesting!

The rumors I heard were that the R was going to be AWD. In any case, it may be too expensive to considered. If it's more expensive than a WRX STI, then yeah, it's priced itself out of the market.

Its is AWD but there is something different then the previous one, more electronic thing which can let you move the power fromt front to rear etc. It is a mean machine for sure around 275bhp

for pricing

GTI over here is 32000$
Sti is 43000$
WRX is 33000$

and Z is wooping 50000$

Yeah, I'm thinking that if it's north of 35k in the states, it'll sell about as well as a condom in a convent.

hahaha

The golf is amazing fun to drive. Fit and finish, I like it better than the others in initial quality, but I question its reliability.

Speaking of golfs, still waiting on my Mustang to arrive here in country, bought a beater car for the time being, a 94' VW Golf III, Bon Jovi edition. I shyt you not my friends, its seriously a special edition created for the 94' Bon Jovi world tour, fucking hilarious. Lemme see if I can upload some pics...
