Stupid Car Story thread!
If you have any stupid car stories type in here!
Heres one. Just happened 3 days ago. My sister who is 23 years old, and has been driving since she was 15 was broke and ran out of gas. Instead of calling anyone in the family she decided to put SODA into the gas tank. Why in the world she would think this would work is beyond me. She drives a saturn of all things so the car is gimped to begin with. Needless to say the car didnt start and is sitting in my parents garage and now they have to drive her to work etc. She said she thought the sugar in the gas tank thing was a myth. I am comletely dumb founded. Anyone else have any car stories??? |

My buddy has a picture of this guy hauling his ATV , not on a trailer, but strapped to the trunk ( on top of ) of his car. I'll have to get that and post it up here. |

There was a guy from my old car club who forgot to refill his Scion TC with oil during an oil change. Engine seized up a short while later. Also had a "friend" in high school who forgot to put a new oil filter back on before refilling. When I was a little kid I filled a super-soaker with 7-UP and sprayed the side of my parent's van. In the middle of the summer.

Hmm. I know just the story. My buddy/roomate had purchased an older (3rd gen?) supra. It was a turbo version. We were about 20 at the time.
He stopped at one of those hand car was places with me in the passenger seat. After a quick wash, we went to leave. Apparently forgetting that tires+wet=slippery, he gunned it while exiting the car wash establishment. There was a circle k right next to the car wash, and suddenly after spinning around, we were headed directly toward it. In a panic, my friend mashed the gas. First, we jumped the sidewalk curb. Then, we jumped the parking curb, that keeps people from parking too far into the sidewalk. Then we hit a bunch of those porno newspaper machines, while flew like bowling pins. Then we hit one of those blue US mail boxes, which flew pretty well itself. Now that all those obstructions are out of the way, it's just us and the circle k, other than the guy standing between us, too scared to move at all. Just a jaw dropped SOB about to be run over. Luckily, my friend came about his senses, and finally hit the brakes, instead of the gas (which he had been doing until that point). We stopped just a couple feet short of the guy. My friend looks at me, and says "should we get out, or get the f- out of here" to which I reply "let's get the f- out of here." He slams in reverse, and we are on the way home. There is a horrible crunching noise as we drive; we figure the front bumper is probably hanging. When we arrive home to inspect, the front bumper is not hanging. One of the porno paper machines is wedged under the car, complete with a concrete weight and chain, meant to keep you from steeling the paper machine. It took probably an hour to get that out of there. We went back to the scene of the crime (in my car) to see the damage. The paper machines and been thrown in a pile, but the blue US mail box had not been moved. As it turns out, those things are bolted to a concrete slab, which was still attached to the box. How that supra took it and flung it 30 feet, I'll never know. The car was somehow miraculously unscathed. Moral of the story: We tires are slick, and supras are tougher than they look. |

Was on my bike during July 4th weekend. Needless to say there were alot of drunks on the road. I pulled up to a " T " intersection, where I was stopped at the outlet of the " T ". When my light turned green, I started to proceed out and make my left turn. Before I could even get to the middle of the intersection, a car coming from my right side of the intersection was slamming on his brakes and proceeded to stop only 10 feet away from me. (Stupid of me to not look both ways first)
At that point I continued to make my left hand turn and pulled over to a Farm Fresh parking lot, which was right next to the intersection. Before I could even get my helmet off to start puking my guts, I hear tires burning out and a giant crash. It turns out the car that almost hit me had hit a tree while trying to race the car next to him. ( I am guessing the idiot put the car back in reverse from where he had stopped in the middle of the intersection to race his buddy at that same stop light) The tree was right on the other side of the street across the parking lot, and only about 100 yards away from the original stoplight. After throwing up a little bit, I went to the seen of the crash where the cops had already arrived ( I lived in a very small town.) I stuck around for a little while to see the cops pull out 7 empty beer bottles from the car. I want to say that I wasnt in shock over this, but my jaw just dropped. I couldn't believe it. I decided to not tell the cops that the driver almost ran over me, the driver looked like he was in enough trouble as it was. His friend also looked as if he bailed on him and left the scene of the accident, as did the car he was racing aginst. I hope the driver received whatever punishment that was thrown at him. Needless to say everytime I am at an intersection now, I look both ways. Be safe out there people! Espiscally this Memorial Day Weekend |
