The fronts grew for sure! I would like to know what is on the back. The 2012 looks like it has Camry brakes for the rear. 2 piston job I think. Not what I would want stopping my 3800# sled.

Convert, the content of your posts doesn't bother me as much as your self-righteous attitude.

I read the article. Ok the thing was rubbish. But you didn't have to rant on me. I feel that was unwarranted.

The brakes are the same for the GT500, Boss 302, and Brembo package GT and honestly they do an excellent job. Braking feel and stopping power is great.

From a pure looks perspective I'd like to see a larger rear rotor, but the smaller one does allow you to run a 15" wheel with slicks on the back, which Ford definitely took into consideration since so many people drag race these cars.

You're welcome.

I am frustrated with the GT500.

The engine is killer! Yet they didn't upgrade the transmission behind it to allow drivers to shift it fast.

The wheel-base is long. Yet they didn't put the wheels out back to take advantage.

They dumped a lot of money into track-tuning the suspension around VIR but they put 2-piston brakes out back.

They spent time/money with coating cylinder bores and they answer to driveline vibration is a 2-piece driveshaft that weighs over 20 pounds MORE than a 1-piece aluminum one.

They just did so much of the car SO RIGHT! and then totally screwed up the package on nickel/dime stuff.

I'm sure the SVT engineers are frustrated about some of these things as well, but there is only so much they can do when ultimately the bean-counters are in charge.

Still, for what it is, it's amazing.

Here is a better show illustrating the new brakes:

And some neat little canards on the red one:

That's Ford for you. And remember this is a $55k dragster not a $150k exotic. Ford had to make compromises.

And yes, those are 6-pot fronts.

With both cars you can clearly see the lower control arms. Not sure what R&T was thinking...

I like the regular Mustang front with the Boss 302 valence.

They do look like smaller 6-pots I agree. The rears appear unchanged to me, but it's rolling '12 rubber/rims. I think that Ford is doing some things though, and that this car is not "a package". Maybe they are just testing the brakes this day. Who knows?

I'm going to remain hopeful that 6-pots up front mean better things all around and they are just systematically testing it.

Ford has a real winner if they can tweak the bean counters arm juuuuust a touch!

IC, the rears are a good bit larger:

My guess is it is going to end up on the car. Ford typically hasn't tested any of their cars on the Nurburgring before, so the fact that they have two out there running gobs of laps probably means that they are just making sure the new stuff works.
