They always price the "nicely equipped", same pricing for a current gen GT500, they can get up to 60k easy.

They'll have a base model available at 50 easy.

How do you know they're not bumping the base one up to 60k, with "nicely equipped" nearing 70?

The black on I saw today was nicely equipped and stickered for $55k. I'd hope someone could talk them down from that.

Because then, they'd be venturing into "super snake" territory. The GT500 has always been the working mans "affordable" super car, once you make it past the 60k price barrier, you price your current demographic out of being able to afford the car, thus, losing millions in sales. Ford has always been the consumer friendly car brand, and IMHO, they wont allow their customers to break the bank to own their cars. It's also a direct competitor with Chevy's new boy the ZL1, which will be priced between 50-55k, gotta stay competitive.

Look, I'm just sayin', never assume. They could still screw the pooch on pricing. It's happened in the past.

Just wait til the Camaro LZ1 and rumored Z28 are released.

The Ford response will really raise the bar.

I don't know if the price is going up or not, but I were in the market for a GT500 I would probably buy the 550 HP for $48-55k over a 600 HP starting at $60k. That $12k on the starting price means a lot to me.

meh, for me, I'm willing to pay for that extra power, especially since it is factory.

I was looking at the GT500's when I bought my Z...I have a Ford motor co discount code, and they weren't willing to budge one dollar for me off of retail. They said if anything they'd sell it for MORE than sticker.
. I laughed at the salesman and went back to the Nissan dealer.
The Z is more fun for everyday driving anyways (meaning you can enjoy the curves and whatnot without having to worry about the po-po for speeding...I didn't find it much fun to take the stang in the curves).

Still a nice ride though

Should have gone to a different dealer.

The crappy thing about the Shelby is that not every dealer can get them in, so they believe they don't have to budge. And dont think that dealers don't know how close the next Shelby.

No Mustang has ever been considered Supercar worthy. Its great for straight line red light to next red light but it seriously lacks Supercar handling. Its great for throwing around curves and fishtailing like the Bandit. And now they want to add more power to it when the power it has now cant be applied to the ground?

Is that so? and who are you to judge this exactly? Dont know if you know this, but a $45k daily driver put down a better lap time at Laguna Seca than an Audi R8... so what again, makes a supercar?
