Most people outside of major urban areas live many miles from where they work. I'm at least 33 miles each way, and there's no way I'm biking that, in part because there are no roads that will allow me to, but also because it's 33 miles each way and I'm fet.
Exactly, I would bike to work if it wasn't a 13 mile highway.. and there wasn't 30-50kt winds constantly... but biking around town isn't a bad idea... the wife and I are actually looking at getting some nice bikes..

but anyway.. RC NISMO LEAF... do want

Exactly. I live in the North East and its suburban, my work is about 15 miles away which isnt horrible i suppose but its also not flat land, and if it is raining/snowing or any other bad weather it would be impossible... Especially with the winters being freezing and ice everywhere...

Electricity isn't a fuel, it is a method of transmitting and storing energy. The electricity still has to be produced, which right now is still primarily by fossil fuel combustion. Running cars on electricity solves the city pollution problem but not the fossil fuel problem. Sure there are other methods of generating electricity, but none of them are perfect, and for right now fossil fuel is still the most cost effective. Battery technology and charging technology also needs to improve in leaps and bounds for this to be a vehicle technology for the masses, but you've got to start somewhere.

Yes but your state has the population of the City of Boston spread across the area of a good sized European country! I'd love to see more wind everywhere but it's not a cure all especially in the high population states.
