That pretty much somes it up for me too. It's a cute little car but it's no sports Gt car like a Z or a Cayman.

good luck finding one that is manual and available.

My buddy bought a BRZ but it took 2 weeks to find in the good ole' state of Minnesota.

The cars have potential, but don't work for me with the stock engine. The car is so light it doesn't need 300hp, but something more like 250hp/240tq... Then it would be in my garage.

Saw my first FR-S the other day in red, was going in the oposite direction so i only got a shot of the front and side as i went by. From a looks stand point in my opinion the car looked very cheap just like the current scions do. At a starting price of 26k i would never buy this.

I think they look great from the front and side. It's the back view that really kills it for me. It looks like it's running on spare tires - super skinny and not even close to flush.

I don't care about how well it performs if it looks dumb doing it. Although I guess it's an easy fix.

Finally found a BR-Z in the Subaru showroom, but saw it at 10 pm, after it closed. Gonna finally be able to inspect it closely some thursday :) Our Toyota and Lexus dealerships had absolutely no FR-S's.

Fun fact: The Subaru and Hyundai dealerships in my area have window-side key lock boxes and many cars have keyless entry where the keys just need to be a few feet next to the door. Resulted in many open doors late at night.

You might have been able to test drive it too.

lol why would they? It's branded as a Scion.

I had a revelation when I sat down to ponder what cars would be REAL WORLD faster than the BRZ/FR-S. Granted, my living situation (Colorado Springs, 6500' above sea level at my house), pushes my impromptu logic in a specific direction, but I imagine this would apply to nearly anyone who doesn't live six feet from either ocean. So, without further ado, here are the categories of cars faster than the Sciubaru in the real world:

Category A: any car/truck with a turbo.
Category B: any car/truck with more than 2 liters of displacement.

And that's it, really. Now I don't know about you guys, but I would die inside just a little bit every time I got waxed from a stoplight by a soccer mom late for practice, rolling 6 deep in her minivan. I think anyone who's even got a small shred of competitiveness or Type-A in them would feel the same. The thought of having to repeat the mantra "Yeah, but my car handles better in the twisties" over and over again during my daily commute- which, oh by the way, has NO twisties- would drive me batty. So where would this car be truly good? Race tracks with no straights and canyon runs below 2500'? Without any sort of boost from a turbo or a blower, I can't see this car being a world beater. I simply can't.

S.

Hahaha omg that is so stupid. I can't believe a dealership hadn't thought of that. If a group of thieves comes across this revelation, they'd end up with a goldmine. Airbags, seats, steering wheels, navi displays, etc etc. That is terrible.

Or even the whole car :roflpuke2:

No. I thought people did upgrades these days but this is a downgrade sir.

The FT-86 is going to get a lot of love from aftermarket tuners just from what I've seen so far. The HP output is not overly impressive in comparison to the 370z. Also, the look of it from when the original version that was brought to everyone's attention 4 years ago to now are completely different; it has been dumbed down and made not as nice. Also since it is under the Scion line now, people will just look at this car as trash. IMO, I would rather just buy a used 350z or 240sx and go from there instead of the FT-86.

It's really hard to judge IMO without looking at pics themselves. I use to think this way until I made the comparison myself.

The original headlights are super sleek and sharper, but the position of the projectors may be a bit too far back to be effective. A lot of the front facia still looks the same with minor tweak on aggressiveness, but I'm not sure if the side lower ducts are supposed to be functional air ducts for the brakes. I like the original rear at first, but it looks like that style isn't going to age well after released. The new ones are a bit funky yet modern and I'm pretty sure there will be a aftermarket for pure red ones.
