For example, they had a girl with a 99-04 year V6 mustang and Nitrous and a cam running low 12's@113. Then we found out it had a custom manifold. Then we found out it was a 4.0 truck engine. Then we found out... |

Found this discussed on the ffr forum. They bring up some valid points about the crash thing and they also compare it to a c6 allot. Either way i think it would be somewhat safe on the streets although from what i read some improvements to the frame wouldn't hurt.

He and his passenger suffered a few cuts and he probably had a code-brown. Both are just fine, and he has a few very minor scars from it. No broken bones or "serious" injuries. Lots of blood from what i heard as his scalp got nicked from the lexan roof that shattered (why I hate those removable roofs and refuse to own a 'vette with one). Head wounds bleed a lot. Anyway, RIP C5, glad he and his were in a safe car that had been properly tested. Last edited by ImportConvert; 03-22-2011 at 03:26 AM. |

Like most things, the motor will last putting down 650 or so whp stock, but it's just a waiting game. It might last 30-40 runs, it might last one. You just don't know. |

The s2k from hell rebuild looked pretty expensive from what I saw. Hard to say though. You can spend a lot more or less than another guy just by having the right or wrong hookups.

Don't have a clue how that was financed. That one was "done right", from what I know. I do know connections probably paid a big role in things. I stopped hanging out with the group a few years back because all it was was high school type drama and a lot of yelling about who's whatever was faster than whoever elses whatever. A lot of people without the money getting in WAY over their heads on cars that they blew up trying to prove the point, and a whole lot of other mess. I wanted no part of it.

I think everyone is missing the key difference between the extruded aluminum type chassis vs. the steel tube versions used in a lot of race cars. Energy absorption. Your moms Corolla is loaded with crumple zones which take up precious volume and add weight to the car all to keep her brain from bouncing all over the place in her skull and organs from detaching themselves upon impact. All the gear connected to the pilots in serious race cars are meant to make up for the lack of crumple zones while keeping the weight down.
I have had my eye on the GTM Supercar and feel that it's almost to the point where I would buy one. They have enough years under their belts and enough track time for me to call them solid. I wouldn't mind using it as a daily driver either. |
