Hyundai Coupe getting 333hp

So its confirmed, the Hyundai Genesis coupe will get 333 horsepower, 291 pound-feet of torque AND a new "face lift" (I wonder how much it will weight?). Looks like they are taking a direct shot at the 370z lineup.... One thing that Hyundai does well is copy other cars ( in terms of design ), the Genesis sedan looks exactly like Mercedes Benz. So lets hope they dont copy the Z when they go back to the drawing boards for the Genesis Coupe.........here is the article below

It's still a 2+2..not a true sports car imho

meh

Good for Hyundai, and good for consumers!

It's like a cheaper G37 (and a fairly good one, IMO). I don't see it as direct competition with the Z because of the whole 2+2 deal.

Lol the japanese are known for copying too such as Lexus. Some may even say the z is copying Porsche so why shouldn't hyundai copy Nissan?

All car companies copy each other. It's market competition. If toyota has a truly stunning innovation, do BMW and Mercedes ignore it or come up with their own version of it? Or do they simply buy licensing from toyota? I'm guessing they don't ignore it if it attracts consumers.

Good to see the competition stepping it up, hopefully the Z will counter in the upcoming years. Just because it has 2 more seats, doesn't mean it's not a competitor. People will be comparing performance and price more heavily than the number of seats.

Should make for an interesting bout in the upcoming years.

I think the 911 is and has always been the one exception to the rule. :icon17:

hehe it's true. They exist but are too small to be of any use.

I understand that the Japanese are known for copying, but that still doesnt make it right. I personally feel that it is NOT good for competition. Some companies profit well from it, but from a consumer perspective or anyone that appreciates automobiles it does not move the automobile industry forward. Nissan got their design from previous Z's, 40 years of them being built, so I think that another car company coming in and stealing that design/tradition from a car is a slap in the face.....so as i said before I hope they dont do that.....plus I dont want people coming up to me asking me "Hey is that a Hyundai?"......

kenchan 03-07-2011 04:20 PM

dang 333hp. how many horses do our cars have again? 332 or was it 334? or 332.57?
