Sold my Z Got a M5

Just wanted to say farewell to you guys. During the time I had my Z a lot of you were a lo t of help. Im almost a my middle age and wanted to get a car I liked completely. I was able to purchase a 2008 BMW M5 (a beast), and this car suits me in every way. Its fast, comfortable, spacious, and has every luxury imaginable.:ughdance:

fullmonty 12-30-2010 01:07 PM

Congrats man!

Demon Z 12-30-2010 01:11 PM

A completely different animal but a great choice in itself. Enjoy!

shadoquad 12-30-2010 01:12 PM

Very, very nice! Enjoy the M5!

m4a1mustang 12-30-2010 01:17 PM

Congrats! Enjoy the M.

FuszNissan 12-30-2010 01:18 PM

Nice Choice, and Congrats!

Junior370z 12-30-2010 01:58 PM

Congrats on the Beemer!

khtso 12-30-2010 02:01 PM

My Brother-in-Law just got the exact same thing. That thing is a beast. 500HP V10 is ridiculous. The auto-closing doors and auto-adjusting active side bolsters are just the topping on the cake.

Trips 12-30-2010 02:14 PM

Congrats and enjoy!!

Just remember us when your maint runs out $$$

ProfessorDave 12-30-2010 02:17 PM

Nice! Don't feel like you have to be a stranger...stop on by when you get tired of the snooty beemer forums ;-)

fairladyZ34 12-30-2010 02:19 PM

v10 ftw

kenchan 12-30-2010 02:45 PM

Thats one :yum: car.

mick 12-30-2010 03:13 PM

nice but i thought people who approach middle age would want a 2 seater sports car :)

RCZ 12-30-2010 03:17 PM

Nice car, no torque, but nice ;)

PR370z 12-30-2010 04:24 PM

Thanks guys, I really enjoy this car, as far as it not having torque, its good enough for me this thing will do 170 MPH (limited) really quick. When you pass 100 mph its when it gets really fast.

c41006 12-30-2010 04:31 PM

Congrats man glad you took my advice ( you may not remember me giving it to you but just know you took it )

I 100% agree. I raced one in my WS6 and was about even with it until I hit 4th gear, then it motored off and left my arse. Was about at 100 when the pull began, lol

Gratz!

Red__Zed 12-30-2010 08:53 PM

I never said where it occured, but since you force the issue, clearly a drag strip.

I'm not forcing any issue, just forum rules! You don't like it then take with AK. ;)

Admin never said anything about racing. Just street-racing. The only person here who said something about streetracing was you. :tiphat:

+1 on Pixxors

OP was trying to trade his Z for a IS-F so I'm not surprised although slightly disappointed that he sold his Z.

k20z3 12-30-2010 11:53 PM

Post some pictures!

tranceformer 12-30-2010 11:54 PM

But you are going to see it your way, regardless. :shakes head:

Congrats!

12.3@115 out of a stock M5 , a stock ws6 isnt staying with a stock m5 , a retard in a manual maybe but thats it...

import you hate on every car but seem to love your ws6 and your g20 , why did you ever get rid of it ? And is there not a forum for pontiacs you could be on ?

chuckd05 12-31-2010 12:22 AM

and great pickup on the M5 bro... My friend has a 550i and I have had that car for several days at a time on a few occasions and I loved it... even the motor in the 550i has effortless acceleration over 70mph... very impressive car and that was only the 2009 550i. I love the 550i's wheels he has, almost more than the stock M5 wheels... I feel like beemer got that wrong.. the m5 wheels are nice but his 2009 550i wheels are more aggressive to me..

regardless that car is one fine machine even if it rode on steelies

When did I hate on the M5? I related an experience, agreed with OP, and congratulated them. M5 is an awesome car.

I think you are seeing what you want to see. I have said PLENTY of negative things about my WS6 and G20. I mean, this is almost as bad if I were to do this...^^

IMWEZL 12-31-2010 02:04 AM

Yeah I've been looking at the 06-07 M5. It all depends on what the next duty station is. Being divorced is awesome more **** for me after child support! :)

Welcome to the family!

Those BMW's, especially the ///M cars can be very expensive to maintain compared to a Nissan, though. If you can, either set aside $$, make a friend at the dealership/ a BMW shop, or get a warranty of some sort. Roommate took his 5-series in for a new coil-pack and it was $200. $120 of it was labor...on a coil-pack (He did not know it would be like that or he would have done it).

Sick car, but warranty is key on a BMW!
