thinking of switching to an 06-07 Z06

I wanted a ZO6 so bad but when the Z came around the styling looked so great. I still think about a ZO6 but I don't want to get rid

Z06's are way simpler and cheaper to maintain and more reliable (per consumer reports) than the M3.

Snow chains for the rear tires cost $500. He's going Autozone now, LOL.
An oil-change on a newer Z06 is around $200. It has almost 11 quarts of oil, or if you buy an older one, around 8, I belive. 8 quarts of synthetic + filter + 1/2 hour labor, $125-200-ish is the going rate.

Because peak horsepower doesn't mean a darn thing. It's power under the curve. That 427 makes a lot of it.

Sure is... I looked at those. The M3 would have free maintenance however for 4 years.

doubling your oil capacity is a great way to keep oil temps down ......hint hint, Nissan

Unless I am misunderstanding, a 2008 M3 would not. Otherwise, yes it would. However, If OP kept it for longer, it would possibly fail hard, financially.

You would lose less money selling the Z and buying a Z06 and then selling it for a Z with an SC already on it. That way the OTHER guy can lose his arse on mods, and you can just flip the Z even if you get a good deal and sell in a few months, minus the TTL.

Buy an SC and you are going to be out around 50% of the part/install cost when you flip the car. Also, harder to sell modded than stock vehicles.

I was wrong on cost. I over-estimated a bit (because I like expensive oil and filters, apparently these guys just dump mobil 1 in there. Heck, it works and GM warranties it, why not?) Here is a thread about 'vette and Z06 ownership cost:
