I was going to get a 135 until my friends mom got one...that and the fact that the Z has 32 more hp and is NA.

Males own them, too. A guy I worked with bought one. Well, he's a flaming homosexual, though.

I wasn't a fan of the 1 series until a buddy of mine bought one. "ImportConvert" may have seen it around as we both live in Shreveport.

A slight drop & M3 CSL wheels did wonders for the car lookswise:

Anyway, his car swayed my opinion.

I looked at a fully loaded 135i at one point. I just couldn't get over the kind of squashed look it had. It was great fun to drive though. I'm sure the new M version will be even better.

Girly M3? Just like the miata is girly... funny how all the most fun cars to drive are classified as "girly" lol

The 1 series will make all M3 owners think about what they are getting... a simple flash and some breather mods and this car will haul ***... So far the M3 guys have been justifying that the 135 isnt a big deal because it does not have the M liveries and suspension / "sport-feel" - however now - its really going to make M3 owners question their faith...

Wait till this thing sells a little and we start seeing em on the road - im sure most of them will not be driven by girls lol - Not to mention, around here - the only people I see driving the V8 M3s are rich spoiled housewives....

To each their own I suppose...

It looks like it has a back seat.

a while ago, i read an article where ferrari designer pininfarina said in order for a car design to become timeless, there had to be some ugliness in it -- he cited the porsche 911 as an example :)

I am seriously thinking about one of these. At least until they release the prices. I'm not sure you will be able to get one for less than 50K. In that case I might have to pass.

Heres a link to an article I found recently on the 1 series M. Lots of good info in it and some really good pictures. The All-New 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe - European Car Magazine

Apologize for the disturbance but my dad has got the 135i...there were some changes i observed though the car look more sporty than the older one. Only then the music features has issue...do the 135i required an adapter to connect with the IPOD?

ZPirate 02-26-2012 09:35 AM

Man I thought this thread died a long time ago.

BTW I didn't end up with a 1 series M, but I did purchase a 135i. Install a tune and it's 400 hp and 400 lb/ft of torque. Suspension needed some work, but with a few mods and some aftermarket wheels and non runflat tires it's a real handler too.
