I was in the meat of the genesis board mebers, owners and other prospective tuners....

as the 2.0T represent a possible goldmine for shops that can delevelope "pakages' that will ut the little spec r in the mid 350-380 rwhp zone.

A half asses attempt was successful in this Hp acquisition. 363 rwhp but the torque curve was all funky and the map..the ecu defintely dops power as it reaches redline...pk torque was not at 5225 but more like 4000..... just plain weird.
meaning Hyundai probably won't be helpful..( good news for Us.) But the ecu will be cracked or pigybacked....costing the genesisi owner a few more dollars...

Now i just got an invite to Hyundai with an 11k check from hyundai corp. to buy a Genesis at msrp - 11k

I just may have to do this.....i don't deny i knida like it and it grows on you....and it is similar to thhe z and a few other cars i general shape.

Lastly let me address the 5.5 the motor is putting down...on a dynojet dyno just 10 hp less than a 370Z thats the difference.....so tey maybe underated..

hence the mokey numbers...... either its putting out 320 crank....or the z is lower.

than 332 crank

Hey can i show off my GTO with custom bodywork? aftermarket rims....and still i made it look stock......

these genesis in the pics ..some are real nice.....can't ever go wrong with a black out version..

Yes your post was informative and such.. No argument there

But....Just what kind of response are you (or similar posters) looking for? You posted this topic in the 370z area,( not in the other vehicles forum btw) on a Nissan 370z site.

Which, as you know are mainly frequented by people who either own, thinking of buying or just plain interested in the Nissan 370z.. The majority don't come here looking for info on Hyundai's or Chevy's. Do the same on their respective forums..See how many 370 fans you can get there.

And the old "No true auto enthusiasts here" or "Fanboys" lines won't fly here as well... Do a search..This topic (different makes as well) was posted and discussed numerous times by different posters.

Sorry to say..Just because you and other fans of the Genesis like the car.. There's always going to be equal numbers who hate it...
No i'.m a 370Z owner.....too bad sigs aren't posted.

i happen to own a Zo6, a heavily modified ( all around) GTO, twice thats 2
and a moded Hayabusa....

Some i'm part of many forums.

I'm no mechanic ..i leave that to my shop manager.. But i do co-own a tuner shop...specializing in turbo applications with a built in ground dynojet

i would think what i presented would mean more since we got to look at and study the modibility and cost of doing such.

When i can gt a sport 370Z for 31,999 why would anyone buy a Hyundai.
as they are being pricks about it being a hot car, blah, blah blah. and they won't discount it.....

I told the guy good expect them to launguish on the lots till you have to sell them for a loss..

Hyundai shoulld have at least = the handling and braking....or get closer.

and the Dealers....OMG they are just asses as they finally got something descent....well the Sonata and Azzera and their Suv was good as well.

but to not budge......they don't have Zr1's or Vipers....but they act as if.

I expect some g__dman sincere respect.....lol no just a thanks would have been nice.

i spent the better part of a week..talking looking, pre shopping....i think a bit more than any other thread on this subject.

if its in the wrong place the moderator has power to move it into mainstream......i think it does belong here cause i am a 370z owner. Black/ tints...did the pop charger the cat delete and gonna fab up some free flowing exhaust bullets in placce of mufler..no need to increase catback diameter.... You'll lose exhaust velocity which at this point is perfect.. with present diameter tubing. and asavea few lbs with that mufler. I'm thinking a 25+ rwhp gain plus much better under the curve response

Honestly, I'm sure the price will be cheaper than the 370z.
I don't even know why everyone compares them both...
I think it would be better with the G37/335i.
I think this car looks great and is heck of a deal for its price also!
Just wouldn't get the first year if I was a serious buyer.
Probably wait 2 years then get one.
Really, really, disappointed at the hp/torque #'s.

It's a good car for what it is. A 2.0T Track is listed for $26k and you could either make it put down more power or possibly handle as good if not better than a base Z. Please. You couldn't list a base g37 for $30k.

Most Z owners would probably be spending $50k+ on a new Cayman S if there budget were that much.

^ I disagree. Its not alway about performance. I personally don't like the Cayman's looks
It looks too much like a Boxster to me(yes I know its the same platform). I always found the Boxter to be a weak looking car. I think the 370Z has a good performance look combined with a mid-elegance which leans toward classic. The Hyundai is ugly. It looks like a G37 had a defective baby.

Now you've gone and made defective babies everywhere cry. I hope you're happy.

There's no way it can match 370Z in performance. But the modded ones are very attractive in some people's eyes.

Also, 370z and prestige don't belong in the same sentence. The GTR, maybe. But someone trying to be prestigious in a Z... is kind of sad.

Why?

Because its not a super heavy German sedan?

prestigious
1 : standing or estimation in the eyes of people : weight or credit in general opinion
2 : commanding position in people's minds

Seems fitting for the Z

Hey, I'm not the one who brought prestige into this. I like the 370Z, I think it's a fantastic sports car. But you must see the hypocrisy of putting down the Genesis Coupe, saying the 370Z has prestige, and then getting upset when someone else has a similar attitude.

^Hyundai does not = this.
The Genesis does not = this

The Z is an icon and prestige is one of the words associates with that icon. Another word to use when comparing the Z to the Genesis is "Better". As in the 370Z is better overall than the Genesis in looks performance, and name.

A German badge on a vehicle does not mean better, but it does say that you paid more. A Hyundai badge...IDK what that means...maybe you couldn't afford the Z.

So would a Z badge mean that you couldn't afford a Porsche?

Somebody in the market for a Genesis wouldn't be looking too hard at the Z. G37 or 3 series on the other hand.......
