Something test results don't reveal well are true track dynamics of a given car. The 370z Nismo on JRZ coil overs and upgraded brakes runs into and out of turns with the best of the best in similar hp to weight. There were very few street cars able to lose me in the turns. The other thing that I noticed is that at speeds over 75 mph the Nismo cuts through the air better than most cars. the aero bodywork seems to allow the less powerful Nismo hang with higher HP bricks.

/\ amen brother, preach on!

Go Nismo Z!

PS--can't wait till ours gets on the track this summer.

That's an awesome pic man, and great points about track dynamics as well

Shamu, the thing about those amatuer and semi-pro track events is the difference in lap times isn't always the car, but sometimes is the size and material composition of ones balls.

You provide the scientific scale and the calipers and then we'll compare. We also need a few members for qualitative analysis... I nominate b1ades and Red_Zed.

Going to call you out on that. Totally false at 75mph. There are many ways you can justify having bought the NISMO, but this is not one of them.

The Z is one of the most aerodynamic cars in it's class. Despite it's underwhelming acceleration from a stop, I was always pleased with it's ability to get moving from highway speeds. It would run from 75-120 quicker than you'd expect a 332hp car to pull.

At least where I live they do. 90% of c6's I see on the road are driven by 40-50 year old women.

These aren't NASCAR racers. With only a few hundred horsepower aerodynamics definitely matters at lower speeds. 75 mph might be a stretch, but I think at triple digit speeds the better aero of the 370 would definitely help to lessen the effective gap in horsepower between it and my 5.0. A 120-150 pull would be a lot closer than a 20-100 mph slaughter.

Now with the 900+ HP NASCAR racers, they say that damage to the nose of the car doesn't really start to hurt performance until 140+. But that's because they've got 900+ HP plowing through that wind resistance.
