That's about what I was expecting. No Huge thrills in the corner. Just wanted to get a good feel of her in a straight line mostly to see if I feel a big difference in a straight line vs my 370. I'm sure it won't tempt me enough to trade for my z or nothing. I know the z is a better all around car and a bigger thrill to drive. I'm sure I can still scare the hell out of him in the mustang though just like I have in the z lol.:driving:

I will take my 5.0 in a 87-93 notchback! FTW! The new one does look decent though.

The Mustang has a ton of advantages on the 370z and the 370z only has a few on the Mustang. Mustang: -less expensive -vastly improved fit and finish -much faster at almost every type of track (look at 5.0 vs E92 M3 Motortrend comparo) -2+2 seating -much greater trunk/interior space -better fuel economy -much cheaper to maintain: nearly all components including engine much cheaper to replace -performance: acceleration, braking, roll-on acceleration -responds much better to basic bolt ons and mods when compared $ to $ 370z: -potentially faster on a very tight track like an auto-x -maybe slightly better interior quality but really negligible since you cannot get a Touring + Sport 370z for 2k within the price of a 5.0 6MT Coupe Premium. 370z has a major design flaw with engine oil temps that Nissan refuses to adequately address |
The Z looks stunning and has a fantastic feel, though. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning mine.
Though I'm off to buy my 5.0... See you guys on Tuesday. |

I LOVE both the new Stang (especially the Boss) and the Z. The Stang is a muscle car, the Z a sports car.
Having owned a Stang and having a buddy with the new 5.0 I can still say the Stang will not outhandle a Z; pure and simple. You cannot talk about "AWHH YEAH! I can mod the suspension on the Stang and it will be a corner carver!!" and compare that to the Z. If you mod the Stang, you will need to mod the Z. If you mod the Z accordingly from a suspension perspective, the Z still outhandles the Stangs (probally even the mighty Boss). Apples to apples. Again, it comes down to what flavor do you want? While I REALLY love that Boss, I would never get one. The muscle cars of the world have the power (been there done that), the sports cars have the handling (RX8 - been there done that). The Z is the perfect blend; edit: civilized blend - Exige S is pretty hot! The Corvettes cost too much, the BMW 1 M Coupe, to lux for me (although that will be hot also!). M4A1 Mustang, if you go to the Stang side do us a favor and get the BOSS!!! Then tell us all about it!!! You have your orders Sir. *at least the Stang is the top muscle car on the block again!!! |

There is no comparing a domestic to an import, the GT-R is closer in looks to the Mustang than the Z. I would never ever ever take a stang over a Z, stangs are a dime a dozen and the Z makes people notice. Stang not so much.
Hands down the Z wins over the stang not even a close comparison, the stang will be worth peanuts in a Year and my Z will be holding strong. |
I respect both cars, and see them both differently.
I'm obviously biased towards my Z, as I'm in love with its handling, power, and good looks. But I can also respect what Ford have done with this new Mustang. It has just nudged the bar upward for the muscle car once more. A bargain M3 at half the price of a real one. |
