On a Dyno Dynamics heartbreaker to boot. I saw that a few days ago... pretty sweet.

awesome numbers! Nothing that hasnt been seen from a LS1 10 years ago or LSX though....big step for mustangs, but in the big picture of perfromance vehicles nothing that hasnt been seen from a V8 years ago

It's not a big deal for an LSX because those engines are huge, old school pushrod designs. They can make a lot of N/A power with head/cam upgrades.

To pull 507 whp on a Dyno Dynamics ("heartbreaker") machine from a naturally aspirated OHC 5L V8 is a pretty big deal, IMO.

Anyone with any knowledge whatsoever understands that our OHC engines favor boost. So any time you can lay down some nice numbers N/A it's always a big deal. These aren't LSXs!

true I agree with you steve, but pushrod vs sohc vs ohc vs dohc is just the nature of the beast and what each manufacturer choses to build. I wanst aware the new 5.0 needed heads either!?? huh?

m4a1mustang 02-25-2011 09:56 AM

It doesn't "need" heads but in this case the 507 whp car had cams + heads as part of a traditional N/A build.

Wait... do you mean like... need heads to make the 507 whp figure or need heads to... function?

I don't know about you, but I need head occasionally to properly function :icon17:

Ah, gotcha. :icon17:

They are stout, but if you're going to be swapping out the cams you might as well port 'n polish!

Lol yeah Those words came up when our GT-R was at the dealership for a "secret" recall action. and tom was all "well since the Engine is out of the car. we can swap the intercooler but while we're at it we should also do the blowoff valves, intake and upgraded turbos" :roflpuke2:

happened with the Z too. "since the engine will have to go out for the painting.. you know while we're at it we should install a TT kit"

I want a Z 02-28-2011 03:11 PM
