Apparently only Bigfoot could heel-toe an FT-86. You could rest your foot between the brake and throttle. And why is the shifter uncircumcised?

I like it. The interior is going to change a lot but I hope the exterior remains untouched.

I hope they offer a range of engines from a weak 4 cyl (econ), a turbo 4 cyl, and a nice v6.

It's a concept. The entire interior is not even remotely functional. I doubt they can even stash proper airbags in that dashboard.

One engine, turbo 4.
Only other option that is still rumor is some sort of hybrid style like the CR-Z to complement the turbo 4.

It has been a while since this thread has discussed the FT-86, but much has been learned in the past two months! First off, Scion will be revealing the "FT-S" at the NYAS April 20th, which will likely be Toyota's variant of the FT-86 in North America. Though a second concept was shown in March at the Geneva Auto Show, it will probably not make it to NA (or at least as a Toyota). However, I'm wondering if any Z owners are considering the FT-S as a next car, because it may be a Z competitor if made right. Just my 2 cents, cheers!

2 quarters through the 2011 Fiscal Year and no FT-86. Hell Toyota is showing a new concept. You guys still thinking 2011?

I'm hoping it stays true to the original concept as a light 200hp RWD sport coupe. If so, it will be my new daily driver, not a replacement for my Z.

Im on their forums and people are really REALLY dissapointed with the choice to launch it as a Scion. They already had the TC, so why did they need a second car. Ppl were like umm were gonna go buy the subaru version instead. Scion is just known for being cheap and putting the cheapest stuff in their cars. Everyone wanted it as a Toyota by far. I would much rather buy a 370z vs a FT, but I did have high hopes for the car which made me follow it closely!

Toyota doesnt want to ruin their rep with the elderly, by making a sports car.

Yeap, they have left the Sport Car to the Lexus brand.

I'd probably get the Subaru version anyways, but it would have been nice as a yota.

I think the styling aspects that will carry over to the production car will make it look sick.
