There are rumours that the FR-S might be around 2200 lbs, but don't take my word for that.

Not in a million years. A 2010 Miata weighs in at over 2400 lbs.

Looks like the Euro version though, like the 2nd concept, not the 3rd.

The concept 1 car supposedly weighed in at 1000KG -- which is about 2200 lbs, but there's no way that will make it into production -- I dunno whether that even made it into concept 2. I'd be happy with 2700lbs. Given today's weights, that's a lightweight car

Look at that thing, no way it weighs under 2800lbs. I'm guessing it is going to come in a little over 3000 lbs.

We'll talk power to weight when the actual numbers come in.

i'm sure the engineers at toyota thought about that and engineered the car so that the 2jz wont fit and therefore any hopes of having the car actually be fast will be ruined.

Oh no. To some on this site engine swaps are too difficult to do.

I know the Z is heavy, but this car was developed to have a lightweight distribution. The 2000 Accord sedan weights under 3000 lbs, so I could definitely see this weighing at around 2,700 lbs. Nothing is official yet, so we just have to wait for the final specs.

You can add probably about 250 lbs in just safety equipment to that 2000 Accord if it were built today. The 350Z had to go up 150 lbs in 2006 due to new safety requirements and Nissan claims they added something like an extra 100 lbs of safety equpment between the 350Z and the 370Z (it's why about 1/2 the weight savings in the new design was lost).
