grad gift
 

I'm thinking about buying a versa as a grad gift for my 18yo son. He is driving a pos 87 tempo now. Does anyone own one of these or have a friend or relative with one. I'm thinking it would be cheap transportation for college. Should be able to pick one up for 10600 before TTT etc.

Poor kid! Haha...I'd go for a Civic or Altima IMO. More expensive but a lot better vehicle...

The new Sentras aren't bad, either. See what kind of deal you could get on those. I think a Versa would be a painful every day car.

get him a used 03 350z.

he's 18, he'll wrap it around a tree in no time. get him a civic coupe or altima coupe. they look sporty and cool. a versa is too much on the economy side of the scale. also won't help in picking up girls

+1 for the Fit. They look a thousand times better than the Versa.

If he is going to pay for it wouldn't you want him to pick? Not that I'm nearly old enough to have a qualified opinion but I'm thankful for my parents practice. If you do well you'll get what's coming to you. My Z was a celebratory gift for getting into law school/wedding gift.

Damn. Didn't expect these responces. I won't buy used and honda is not offering any discounts. Thanks for the honest opinions.
