I agree with the Sentra. Not sure what the price range is on the sporty Sentra, but it got a good review from a member here on the boards as his daily driver.

Ninja edit: They appear to be a bit more expensive than the Versa.

A good idea would be to let us know what the price range is. Go with the competition and buy a Gen Coupe? :P

Whatever you pay extra for the Honda Fit you will more than get back in resale when you go to get rid of it. It is the class leader for a reason.

I dunno about you guys but I've always been a fan of the Toyota Yaris hatch coupe. Not exactly the most manly car but I like it for some reason. IMO Yaris>Fit>Versa haha. Plus Toyota's got good incentives goin on....

When i graduated, i was given the option of buying a new car under $18k of my choice or wait it out until the end of college and have any car under $35k.

Whatever you do avoid CVT, my sis has an Altima. Altima with a CVT is crap. Id say a Civic (because they are economical and last a really long time like mine, 225,000 miles and still going) or Honda Fit (they are really zippy little cars!). Id get an altima only if its a manual. Personally i wouldnt be caught dead in Versa, maybe a sentra.

I enjoyed the CVT in a 2010 Altima coupe I got to drive for a week or so. Not sure why people dislike it so much.

And sorry Red, that Cube is fugly.

Honda fit over anything else. That thing is such an awesome little car. Your son will actually make that extra 2k you spent on it owning the fit for a few years. You will not regret it.
