Problems with me second car 02 Altima
Hey, I am having some problems with my 02 altima and i was hoping the forums could help.
1. Heater doesnt work (tried a coolant flush only, improved heating MARGINALLY, not to acceptable standard) 2. Losing coolant somehow (not a head gasket or coolant leak, did pressure test and had head gasket checked.) Theory regarding this is that coolant is getting blown out of the heater. 3. Recently while driving along both the handbrake and battery light would flash a couple of times and then stop. This happened a few times while driving (Is this some sort of problem code?) |
nothing? bump

sometime my '08 Titan heater goes out, I just have to add water back into radiator, reservoir.

You haven't found any leaks have you? Like near the heater core?
|
i personally suspect the heater core is leaking too because my mechanic did a pressure test and the whole system is fine, no leaks there. it seems to be when i put the heater on the coolant lvl drops more than usual.

Mine doesn't loose super quickly, it is normally months before it runs out. I'm not a mechanic by any means, so thats all I know, sorry. :P |
thanks i appreciate it. this cars givin me lots of probs. but its okay. drive till it breaks =]
|
Ha ha yeah, The titan has over 100,000 miles on it! :icon14:
|
hahaha the alt is 8 yrs old but hitting 180k. im glad we're using up the miles, the rust is startin to get realllll bad for some reason.
|
Well technically the Titan is my dad's truck. Right after he bought it in '07 he became a boss for a long haul trucking company. He would have to over see long haul jobs so that meant he would follow the over sized load semi's plus pace car's the entire length of trips. He did it for well over a year.
|
hmmm wow thats a pretty slow pace. if i may be so bold, i usually pass semis, i cant imagine having to follow one for any extended period of time. must get very dull and boring.
|
Yeah I imagine so, but he made really good money doing it.
I have a CDL used to drive them. It wasn't really my cup of tea, kind of stressful in city limits. :icon14: Oh and not one job lasting a year, many jobs to many places. |
haha well im still a student, but i got a side job as well and i get to live at home, so its a pretty cushy life. all disposable income =] and i have a few investments as well keeping me afloat. :rofl2:
|
That would be pretty cool. I work 7 days straight and then 7 days off. So basically I work 2 weeks a month. I stay with my parents during my work week because my job is close to their house. On my days off I go back to Wichita Falls which is about 50 miles from where I work.
Titan = work week Z = week off  |
