Blasphemy!
MT, so played out even lambos dont have them anymore. Pretty crazy stuff right there.
Lamborghini Giving The Boot To Manual Transmissions? - MotorAuthority |
I dont see an issue with this
|
It is bound to happen. I think Ferrari said that on one of their cars in 2009 only 2-3% are sold in manuals so they dropped it from many of their cars.
I like manual still, but having not driven one of these cars with a very high quality paddle system I cannot comment on which I truly enjoy more. |
I'd definitely take an MT over an AT had it been available on our G's, a double clutch gearbox though like that on the Ferrari is just too good a bargain to pass on
The sound generated from the 60ms fuel cut during shifts is a symphony on its own to start with |

"However, don’t expect advanced dual clutch transmissions to replace Lamborghini’s e-gear sequential automatic anytime soon. Reggiani pointed out that Lamborghini’s six-speed box is around 50 pounds lighter than a dual clutch unit and the automaker is opposed to unequal gear steps, as is the case with most seven-speed transmissions." |
these car companies make cars for performance, whatever gets them from point a to point b faster. AT's and DCT's have proven faster than MT's, so it only makes sense. Yes, the nostalgia of MT's is awesome, but when you're in a company that has to perform, you'll ditch the MT to shave a few tenths off that clock.

With Dual clutch transmissions and paddel shifting, I don't see an issue either. It was only a matter of time until manual will be the thing of the past.
|
Cool now maybe people will give more credit to an automatic sports car
|
I just hate to see the AT stick on a sport car! The car will look better if they elimante the stick like Ferrari did.

posted this in the :gasp: manual versus auto thread.

i always wondered what it would be like to have a paddle shifter with a clutch the shifts would be faster but you would still have the joy that an MT has hmm

Well said. Nostalgia rules manuals. Performance rules autos. |

i would personally rather have the pleasure of shifting my own gears even if it means an extra few milliseconds around a track. not like i'm fighting for the F1 championship and every millisecond off the laptime is crucial. lambo  ferrari  |
