seems pretty dangerous. i can't believe they allow them to race in residential neighbourhoods

Yeah, I wonder how many of the homeowners there don't like that the city shuts down their neighborhood for race cars to pass through!

and the ppl there, like are they stuck trapped in their homes for the whole race? what if someone has work or school to go to? what if there is an emergency and police or fire trucks need to get there but can't because of all the racecars speeding by? what if one of those racecars loses control and spins into a house or a parked car? i sure hope the homeowners there at least get some decent $$$ from the race revenue to make up for the inconvenience.

I'm sure it's like what happens when they repave or seal the asphalt in your neighborhood... if you want to be able to get out and drive somewhere you need to park your car on the street somewhere that isn't being repaved/sealed.

It's only just one stage, though, so it's probably only shut down for part of the day, so it probably isn't too much of an inconvenience. And you are right about the revenues.

My main gripe is I think it's foolish to run a rally stage through a residential neighborhood like that... Too unsafe for the spectators (willing and unwilling alike), IMO. I'm pretty sure it's going to be one of those things where they keep on doing it until something bad happens (like an out of control car kills a kid or something).

As much as I love auto racing, I really wouldn't want some rally cars to come flying down my cul de sac.

1st of all, yay the GTR won. 2ndly, i like how the "new" 911 turbo is slower than a car that came out 2 years ago now (jeez, i wonder if the GTR really is better *sarcasm* ), and thirdly i think clarkson would punch that guy repeatedly about the head and neck if he'd been there when the guy said "if it had a proper flappy paddle gearbox" lolz
