Manual with twins! Supra dropped the ball with offering just automatic. Supra styling is a bit cheesy over the top imo as well. I really like the new Z's classic lines! |

This guy gets it! Lol. I do love the new Supra but that BMW factor has me worried. Those cars are junk anymore. What will the new Supra be in 3 or 4 years of ownership? The thing with the Z is most (not all) have had little reliability issues with the 370 and we have owned them for years.

Nissan utterly lied about it oil cooling capability with well placed and hidden coolers for test drives by the press. Lets not make idiotic accusations without facts. Most folks Ive met who complain dont bother reading the owners manual and at times are unable to understand use effectively the machines they buy. Even with Sport Brakes my Z was not as capable as my M235i which was a first year production 235 and was utterly bullet proof. One set of rotors replaced due wear and not the insane warping the Z's had. Filters, oil and tires. The Z was actually not cheaper to own. My M2 - superb, ZERO issues. My 440i superb. None of my BMW's burned oil and in fact used 1 liter or less between 15000km changes lol. Ok Im lucky. Or is it that the cars are well made. In car ownership its a bit of both. The CSC manual gearbox issue with the Z was well known. All cars have issues. Many are mechanical some are owners who bought the wrong car and or dont know how it works lol. I tell all people my Z was a good car. Not perfect. No car is. Toyota picked BMW inline 6 as a good engine for the Supra. Do some research on it. Strong, reliable and easily tuned for big power. The gearbox is a race proven unit and is the BEST AT on the market. All my cars have it. My M2 has the DCT. I dont miss manuals at all. Had plenty of them. If you at all serious about putting power to use, manuals are least preferred option. I think new the new Corvette is the best sportscar per unit of cost on the market. No manual. Cant build enough can they ....................... |

Yea, I said it....most BMWS are junk...seen far too many of them (newer style models) breakdown with actual competent owners. Same with the cost of repairs. As for the new corvette, you mean a car damn near triple the price of everything we've mentioned lmao. No car is perfect and you are correct, but I'd rather push a Z than drive a Big Money Waster....nice novel you wrote btw |

New Corvette published base price is 60K+$. My M2 was less but not triple less. Far from it. Do you know the price of anything or was it your in depth research that made you state triple? LOL. Cost of repairs. Yes such a hidden secret. Its rather easy to find out what that will be before you buy. Those competent owners are appearing less as is your non fact based delusion. One phone call to discuss maintenance and cost of a given vehicle. WOW so hard. 2 friends cars, BMW's had failures = world ends. Or was it 3 actual friends. Was it the cost of service out of warranty that made them un-happy. How about some facts. Or some interesting reasonable justifications or insights to their ownership. |

Certain makes have “reputations” some earned, some not regarding reliability, cost of maintenance etc. most of these opinions are usually based on outdated data.
For example, Honda and Toyota are super reliable. Was true compared to all other makes 20-30+ years ago, today they’re still riding that positive stereotype to the bank but it’s not true and hasn’t been for a couple decades now. Another one, Audis are unreliable and expensive money pits. True-ish in the past (pre 2014), but like dlstr stated, if you are a educated consumer, then you should know your expected running costs going in. Today tho, Audi is a very reliable make, personal experience with three different ones in our family going back to 2014. Zero major, moderate issues. And only a couple extremely minor issues. One last one, Jeep, has a reputation for being pos vehicles. To be fair, they do deserve a lot of that from past issues. However, we’ve owned 4 wranglers over the past 20 years, 2 TJs, 1 JKUR, and one JLUR. Still have the JK and JL. Only the second TJ had issues, a paint issue and a recurring cowl leak, the other three were/are flawless. For a supposedly pos vehicle, that’s not bad eh? Ferrari and Lamborghini are total shitboxes if you are planning on owning one and driving 10k plus per year, if they get to 100k miles that’s a miracle and running costs are through the roof. Ask anyone who owns one if they’d rather have a z or corvette bc they’re more reliable and cheaper and see what happens. Those folks can afford the “cost of ownership”. Umm, what were we talking about again? |

reliability issues? you mean like the CSC from the 370? I wonder if that nice CSC component will find its way in the new Z for you manual transmission guys.
