is it just me or is lexus really full of $hit? I mean, they have no prestige, no heritage or pedigree like a ferrari or lamborghini, they have literally ZERO experience building supercars, yet not only do they charge a price higher than almost all other exotics and almost puts it into hypercar price, they also get to choose who is good enough to earn the honour of getting one of their sacred cars.

Ferrari does that too regularly with their most exclusive models, and yes they are snobbish jerks but at least they earned it via decades of dominance in motorsports, formula 1, and supercar scene. Lexus is what? Just a company created about 20 years ago to make nothing more than rebadged toyotas with a few extra luxury items inside and a huge markup in price just to jack up toyota's profit.

the problem i have with a lexus supercar is:

when it is time for service, i am going to leave my $350k supercar at the dealer where they usually work on cars costing $30k~$50k?

with the lamborghini and ferrari dealers, i am less worried because all the cars in their hands cost more than $200k.

imagine selling a car for almost $100k and having it serviced at a dealership that sells cars for under $10k... oh wait, nissan does that

which is worse?

That is the same thing with GT-R owners though, but at Nissan they have to have at least one or more person who handles the GT-R personally and attempts to provide better service.

i read that some ford gt owners were turned off by having to service their supercars at a ford dealer too.

nissan should have sold the gt-r as an infiniti.

They thought about it, but Nissan wanted it to viewed as a supercar first and not a luxury super sport car.

actually the lfa will NOT be serviceable by any toyota or lexus dealer staff. instead, lexus company itself will be supplying its own equipment and specially trained mechanics to travel to lexus stores and service the lfa when needed.

also, one thing i couldn't find out is if that 350k is the out the door price, or is that without the lease fees, interest rates, document processing fees, dealer prep fees, and all those other BS "fees" that are always added to the typical lease or finance agreement.

Toyota has quite a bit of racing cred, actually. They may not be Ferrari, but who is?

I saw quite a bit of Gurney's IMSA All American Racers back in the '80's. Enormous off-road success. Formula One. NASCAR. CART. IRL....

Lexus won't care what any of you think about their car. They won't sell you one. lol

They'll hand pick who gets to buy their first ever super car.

While I understand why the LF-A costs so much and I understand that Lexus/Toyota is not making any money on them...

YouTube - ZR1 Nurburgring Official 7:26.4 Record Corvette Run

I'll take 4 of these.

Well, 3 and a GTR.

edit: but yeah, you're right. I'm never going to even own an LF-A anyway!
