There is a-f*cking-lot that went into this build.

Here is a current mod list:

Energy Suspension lower control arm bushings
Billet LCAs
Megan racing camber arms
K-tuned coilovers
K-tuned inverted tie rod ends
K-tuned Oval Exhaust
K-tuned all metal dipstick (i dont know that this counts as a mod but w/e)
Swift springs
PDM front lip
RS side skirts
Civic Hybrid Spoiler
EP3 Seats
Avenue Racing steering wheel
ARP extended wheel studs
Project Muteki open ended lugs
K20A2
Rbc Manifold
Injen CAI
PLM race header
Lightweight flywheel
Hondata K Pro
Hood Quick releases
Hasport motor mounts
K-tuned Shift cables
EP3 electronic power steering
Ryver Blades (17x9 +20 i think)
Falken RT615k - 215/40r17

I think that is it but there are so many parts i may have missed some.

So i thought it would be kind of fun to make a build thread of my previous project.

So i bought this car in 2009. It was the first car i owned, and i never could leave well enough alone.

2005 Honda Civic LX special edition (5spd of course)

https://imgur.com/Mkp8pG8.jpeg

https://imgur.com/Tepjt2y.jpeg

My first mod was to try to make a cold air intake. I got halfway there...

https://imgur.com/AwHiAYQ.jpeg

https://imgur.com/yCXolXV.jpeg

Then, it was my first set of wheels. (Please forgive the quality this was on a flip phone)

https://imgur.com/ipvl73d.jpeg

I obviously didn't realize 18"s looked like garbage at stock ride height at first, so i tried again...

https://imgur.com/60AxX80.jpeg

https://imgur.com/r7QSWTe.jpeg

Here is the first time i lowered it on some springs.

https://imgur.com/wUvyfg2.jpeg

https://imgur.com/JP8aNyK.jpeg

Here is where i started to realize that this was not the way.

https://imgur.com/oIqou6k.jpeg

So i bought some oem wheels again, and some coilover sleeves.

https://imgur.com/niuNW49.jpeg

Again, this was not low enough and had reverse rake, so i bought some racelands (i know, i know. They did the job though.)

https://imgur.com/A9jFdQp.jpeg

This was a whole new world. A new fantastic point of view!

https://imgur.com/IOhppUE.jpeg

It needed a whole new way to go however.

https://imgur.com/IcYR41F.jpeg

https://imgur.com/939pCuN.jpeg

https://imgur.com/5x7OEhb.jpeg

https://imgur.com/mZQbcLS.jpeg

This was at my first Import Alliance way back in the day in Nashville

https://imgur.com/lTtBRFC.jpeg

https://imgur.com/gIhrFlG.jpeg

Then the car got rear ended (for the first time)

https://imgur.com/yl1pvRq.jpeg

Right after i fixed that i got a trade offer for these guys. This is where i started to learn how to fit a set of wheels on a car.

https://imgur.com/9DkLQVF.jpeg

https://imgur.com/CuZkgvx.jpeg

https://imgur.com/MIgLTn4.jpeg

The pains of a slammed car

https://imgur.com/kQXjnrP.jpeg

Annnd then i blew it up for the first time!

https://imgur.com/UoljSJR.jpeg

And decided the wheels should be blue...

https://imgur.com/sBWRe6E.jpeg

https://imgur.com/Aof6buI.jpeg

https://imgur.com/DMettrX.jpeg

Please forgive my younger self...

https://imgur.com/m8A7jkl.jpeg

Blue wasn't catchy enough so why not try highlighter yellow?

https://imgur.com/FhztLzP.jpeg

I then took this thing down to Charleston SC and Charlotte IA for a fun trip.

https://imgur.com/N2oSLJ7.jpeg

https://imgur.com/LXjuibO.jpeg

It was about this time i learned about the Bosozoku style. Lord (and neighbors) forgive me.

https://imgur.com/KJaizoG.jpeg

https://imgur.com/GhkwXPj.jpeg

https://imgur.com/aUTaTVg.jpeg

This was before a Static X concert. My buddy showed up in a bone stock TT supra...

https://imgur.com/IqrNLUo.jpeg

Then i got rid of the dumbass blast pipe. Exhausts were piling up at this point.

https://imgur.com/A8OyBDu.jpeg

Painted the wheel black, and then promptly sold them.

https://imgur.com/aPShxCT.jpeg

Then the car got broken into for the first time....

https://imgur.com/EpHXiKl.jpeg

Then i got some new shoes again (was kind of a wheel whore at this poing) but this time i got the fitment correct.

https://imgur.com/7sKXPPD.jpeg

https://imgur.com/dcc4YBN.jpeg

https://imgur.com/we7sNWY.jpeg

https://imgur.com/YBKS0g6.jpeg

Curbed them and painted them (because i can't park)

https://imgur.com/z9L77IZ.jpeg

https://imgur.com/8qbvBiv.jpeg

parked under the bosses truck for fun

https://imgur.com/zikqmMU.jpeg

https://imgur.com/bEtq9D9.jpeg

Car got broken into again...

https://imgur.com/VE1IPws.jpeg

And then it got rear ended (again)

OKAY! PART 2!

Step one - source all new body panels!
https://imgur.com/3rOG8T9.jpeg

https://imgur.com/CAzwJLo.jpeg

Outcome = Profit! This was at another IA in NKY

https://imgur.com/vmmnAJm.jpeg

https://imgur.com/wabrjXc.jpeg

https://imgur.com/KM8eRCM.jpeg

https://imgur.com/oUZUYzF.jpeg

This was probably the point where i loved the look of this car the most.

https://imgur.com/wHz4o0g.jpeg

https://imgur.com/CeyNlYb.jpeg

AND THEN DISASTER. (again)

Some dudes got in a fight outside of a party on my freshly painted car. They trashed the body work in 5 mins.

https://imgur.com/zJ79hlN.jpeg

https://imgur.com/3tLAkKA.jpeg

https://imgur.com/mUdRHhE.jpeg

https://imgur.com/vZK4jug.jpeg

https://imgur.com/Ynai6Ug.jpeg

note the ****** fender too....

https://imgur.com/NEEfMby.jpeg

https://imgur.com/Q8LefJw.jpeg

But i kept loving it! it was really a no f*cks given car.

https://imgur.com/YoD5yhC.jpeg

And i painted the wheels again.

https://imgur.com/KJVRjKJ.jpeg

https://imgur.com/OLGzoFr.jpeg

https://imgur.com/Z8xDFE2.jpeg

As you astute observers may have seen, there is another civic in the background.
At this time i blew up the sedan again (rod knock this time)
That car was the donor for the K swap.

https://imgur.com/5HA5Z4G.jpeg

The great thing was, the EP3 had already been k20a2 swapped. it had some really nice add ons too such as the 5 lug conversion, RBC manifold, and K PRO.

Honestly, i kind of wish i had kept this car instead of desecrating it to build the sedan, but so it goes. I got it for a steal (3k)

https://imgur.com/U8OMr46.jpeg

https://imgur.com/qcJcrJB.jpeg

Further tear down of the hatch...

https://imgur.com/yO9bWmi.jpeg

the day the swap started!!!

L O L

https://imgur.com/0UIaH0h.jpeg

https://imgur.com/gn0KZeX.jpeg

https://imgur.com/oCG3YTm.jpeg

Engine out!

https://imgur.com/BO2K7ro.jpeg

Cleaned the bay a bit while i was in there...
Can you see the difference?

https://imgur.com/NhNIVFa.jpeg

https://imgur.com/N2eCy21.jpeg

Mounts

https://imgur.com/2WjzVKI.jpeg

Fancy new shift cables.

https://imgur.com/Zgc0qWp.jpeg

proof of the hotness

https://imgur.com/dx6m1O5.jpeg

The brain that makes all of this shenanigans work.

https://imgur.com/ExWH5a8.jpeg

Motor is in!!

https://imgur.com/oj5pdAQ.jpeg

I love wiring (Sarcasm)

https://imgur.com/5HV75S9.jpeg

And its on the ground!!! (and runs!!!)

https://imgur.com/hHtEJJL.jpeg

Yep. My younger self pulled this **** off.

https://imgur.com/vaKS7vR.jpeg

First day driving it to work!

https://imgur.com/8HaNIeN.jpeg

Obligatory pic of the daily. I miss this truck :(

https://imgur.com/XIr0tUS.jpeg

Here it is all back together (including a hood now!)

https://imgur.com/VgnIJcC.jpeg

New wheels again. what can i say? i'm a wheel whore... These were staggered this time.
16x7 in the rear and 16x8 up front. I needed some wheels pretty quick as i massacred one of the rsx wheels.

https://imgur.com/bRV2qBi.jpeg

I bought some new suspension (again)

https://imgur.com/ra7h6LG.jpeg

And Extended studs for the new 5 lug setup!

https://imgur.com/4tF8pdr.jpeg

Fitment looking much better.

https://imgur.com/xGF1hNa.jpeg

Did some more ricer sh*t here. I kinda liked it. plus it helped hide the ****** up hood.

https://imgur.com/PisLfPo.jpeg

And guess what! i got rear ended. A-f*cking-gin.

https://imgur.com/19fm2VF.jpeg

one last pic of this setup

https://imgur.com/faeqslh.jpeg

I bought this bad boy for a grand total of $150. Yes, you read that correctly!
This was a great beater to tool around in.

https://imgur.com/TONzKkQ.jpeg

Got a new end table...

https://imgur.com/XhX1yrs.jpeg

New shoes. (i guess a new bumper and tail light since the last pic as well)

https://imgur.com/6iEvq4w.jpeg

https://imgur.com/3Q28qFi.jpeg

Didn't quite fit... this was just around the street.

https://imgur.com/vUjXrNG.jpeg

Looked pretty good IMO

https://imgur.com/xiAcxOB.jpeg

https://imgur.com/WkxmDCG.jpeg

Here it is after i got the fitment corrected.

https://imgur.com/bW0EoFe.jpeg

https://imgur.com/Q2oUHBI.jpeg

I actually put on the older body style rear bumper. I dunno why but i really liked that over the late model bumper.

https://imgur.com/pI4ntdJ.jpeg

Yellow headlights and an STI lip for maximum the lowness

https://imgur.com/c2CPQxq.jpeg

New Springs and inverted tie rod ends to correct the steering angle.
I love my Z, but this thing is like driving a Go Cart. You just throw it into a corner and it goes the direction you have in your head.

https://imgur.com/cn0qmwZ.jpeg

New fitment. Finally got it back to where i liked it.

https://imgur.com/LAAVGKn.jpeg

https://imgur.com/vLqJgBe.jpeg

https://imgur.com/ghAsOUq.jpeg

https://imgur.com/UzVB49T.jpeg

And then i bought the Z

https://imgur.com/TIfdo4k.jpeg

This is where i'll end the story. I'm currently in the process of repairing all of the years of abuse on the civic. I've kind of lost interest in it so the Z gets all of the money and attention now. The Civic is still in my possession, but it doesn't drive. The idler pulley broke off and i'm waiting for time to install a pulley delete kit.

This thing was a magnet for bad luck. it was unbelievable how often sh*t happened to it.

Yep. I've had it for over 10 years now. I bought it fresh out of highschool and still going strong!

Wow indeed that is one amazing story! I’m happy to hear that you are a Z owner. I wish you much better luck with your Z than you had with your Honda. Overall the Z a true enthusiasts car and is a real drivers car as well you will love your Z.
