All your mustang dreams came true.
An all electric mustang SUV.
It's what every enthusiast ever wanted. :koolaidwall: https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/18/cars/...rnd/index.html |
ugh, name recognition ???

Not a bad ev suv-ish ride, but the name is total failure.

What exactly does this abomination have to do with the most popular, enduring, and successful muscle car name ever? Oh, the tail lights. Of course. I get it now. FORD: :gtfo2: |
I've owned about a dozen Mustangs (1964.5-1972 models) over the years and that (the 2021) is not what I think of when I think Mustang. But I can't get too worked up over it - it's just a name. If I needed an SUV, I wouldn't not buy it because they call it a Mustang (might remove the running horse badges, though heehee).

It’s embarrassing for all present Mustang owners. I can’t believe that Ford could not come up with a different name for this abomination. Seriously? I can’t really blame Ford for making stuff that people want which is SUV’s and pickup trucks.
I just hope Nissan doesn’t get any similar ideas for the new Z. Wouldn’t surprise me though. |

So I'm probably soon to suffer the same embarrassment and humiliation as these mustang owners. I'm just glad we didnt embarrass ourselves first. Speaking of which. I roasted a 5.0 last night. Lol. :driving: |
This on the very weekend when Ford vs Ferrari hit theatres, too.
They’ve got all of the sense of timing of a pregnant Catholic. |
The classic Mustang name is officially dead! Slapping the name on a soccer mom crossover is a slap in the face.

Elon is excited because he needs some other company to build his charging network infrastructure

I've had Mustangs also. That isn't a Mustang. They even had to run a sound track so you can hear it accelerate! So sad.

The day an EV can tow my 4.8tonne tow rig 800 klicks without stopping to refuel (10 minutes to fill-up allowing freeway exit and re-entry) I'll accept EV but not until then.
I have a hunch that the future is actually hydrogen as home-based solar can regenerate a fuel cell storage, but either way, the infrastructure investment for either is still substantial and recharge time for batteries is still too long. The transition will take 2 generations. |
