The Nismo GT-R Delusion.
https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/review...mo-awd-review/
I dont know where Nissan pulls their numbers from?? But you have to be a raging idiot to buy a NISMO GT-R. Litchfield makes nismo comparable suspensions for about $5,000 installed. You can get an ALCO or Brembo front brake upgrade for about $4,000 You can buy body bracing for about $3,000 You can buy a base GTR OTD for about $115,000. + 12, 000 in mods. $127,000 Then the icing on the cake. An accessport COBB tuner for your 600hp $600. Or you can buy s newsed GTR with a 30k discount and do the same build for 100k. The NISMO GTR is an insult to the intelligence of the free world. Anyone buying a $200,000 relic is a moron. But its america, if there is one freedom left in this country? It's the right to be a dumber than rocks consumer driven drone. |
OR, you could just buy a beautiful 911 Turbo S or GT2 RS. Problem solved.
|
For that kind of money, I am not buying a GTR that is a brick on wheels.

Disagree. I’ve jumped on the brakes a few times and it stops quite well with stock brakes. But yes it is a heavy bitch lol |
They might've done this as a final run hype product that they hope creates some allure down the road. Maybe add the R&D costs in there too. I don't think they expect to sell every last one quickly.
There surely is no practical spending for this, and really the problem is how long the car has existed, and knowing what the base used to cost. With that money, I imagine people would be more inclined to the stereotypical dream cars. Hell, I would still be going after a used 458. Had this been like the first time we saw an R35, we probably would be like we were in 2007, in awe of how exceptional of a refrigerator this is. Even in 2019, this is impressive. But, we've seen this for far long, that there's higher expectation at this point. |

The C8 has big shoes to fill being the 458 is a benchmark. I'd buy 3 458's before I buy a GTR at 200k. I haven't driven a nismo version of a GTR... but umm. Still. The ferrari is the embodiment of a true sports car. That's why I was attracted to the Z. Its ferrari like gauges and ergo. The Z places everything perfectly. Just like ferrari. |

also, i'll still be the bad guy and say 200k isnt ridiculous for it. the 911 turbo S kitted out is 200k and thats the competition. same performance and same price. i will say my next toy is looking like a C8 Z06, Mclaren 570S, or an older F12 Berlinetta. well.....for now. i may change my mind but still i currently like those to add to the stable. |
