I took my 2006 C6 corvette 6sp auto to the track for the first time tonight with 50 degree weather. only mods are intake, axleback exhaust, tune and ran a 12.28 @ 117mph...timeslip below. was running consistent 12.3's all night.

nice, 12.3 is CTS-V territory. Is yours a Z51?

Nice!!!!
I could never get near that time with my manual trans, except when it was supercharged. Then again, I've never gotten into drag racing, always been a road course kind of guy.

i used competitive driving mode which takes off traction control and you can spin your tires but leaves on active handling so you won't run into the wall...but i did a few runs with TCS and active handling both off and still ran similar times. i had to feather the launch and then floor it..the first 60' is the most important in this car with all the torque...i had about 8 runs in the 12.3's..and a few around 13.1 where i floored to much and it got a little squirly and I had to let off the gas and then floor it the rest of the way.

yeah..i was really surprised at my time..i thought i was gonna hit 12.5 but not a 12.2. there was another c6 owner that had the ls3 with a lot more mods than me..heads/cam and he ran a 12.6..but that was his first run...tricky to launch these beastly cars unless you're running drag tires.

no i was talking about in a 2005 C6 i had af ew years back.. unfortunately it was a 4 speed auto that sucked and i almost ate the wall on a 1/8th mile track once from brake loading it on a cold day... i ran with traction on and it turned out a little more consistant
me and my buddy used to go to the strip alot and he had a LS3 vette for a while then a 08 Z06 and they were both really hard to get off the line sometimes.. Last edited by MC; 01-09-2010 at 09:47 PM. |
