Anyway, no, its simply better composed. Same corners, same speeds, no sideways stepout like the 370z.

Speaking of absurd comparisons, this all started because you all were absurd enougb to compare this 370z with a c6 corvette. An even larger performance gap than my cx5 to your 370z...

whoa now. reading comprehension needs to gain some attribute points.....i did not mention a vette once so far. got the wrong guy.

i mean i can if you want......like the OP wasted money buying a base model when everyone knows the Z51 is really the only choice if not buying GS/Z06/ZR1.......

:wtf2:

I said "you all". Should have said "some of you". My point was, the comparison absurdity wasnt began by ME.

Several forum members have done just that; they've have driven vettes, caymans, stangs, and all other beasts. I know because I read thru those opinions closely before I purchased my 2015. Now that I've owned the car for over yr I agree with the majority. My Z suspension feels well damped, however our roads a decent and my Z is low mileage and in great condition. My take away from your experience is that perhaps the 2012 had dampening issues or *your* particular car had issues. Perhaps your road are really that bad or maybe Nissan sorted things out in later models. Either way, you are swimming upstream on this forum

They changed shocks and struts in 2013. I will never own another Nissan again, so I cant comment on the effect of that change.

If I was buying a Vette. It would be nothing less the the Z51. I'm just waiting to get the motorhome paid for so that I can get my Ferrari 488 GT3. :driving:

BobDigi5060 04-05-2019 03:36 PM

I went from ap2 s2k to 04 STi. Never owned a Z, but have a 13' G37X and 03' G35 now. I plan to keep both infinitis and also get a C6. I raced a 370 in my AWD G37 it was even until 70mph or so. Nothing compells me to trade the G37 for a Z. Not in 2019. If I do choose to add a Z instead of a C6 it will be because I'm content with the Zs limits.

Anyways congrats it was time to move on.

i just put 2015 nismo components on my 09 last year and they feel almost the same as my 09 sport setup. a touch stiffer.

idk how you guys all hated the Z that much.

i bought a GTR and still kept my Z. love that car. it's now my summer daily.

I was unaware you had to desire to, or own, a Z to be here? You will note I stay in Lounge. I have no desire to delve into the Z or any other Nissan car, so I stay in offtopic areas.

Seriously though, 100% Japan designed and manufactured and not Nissan were my criteria for a vehicle.

After dealing with all the problems it had, the lying dealership, crappy service departments, being stuck in a damned LEAF and then a early 2000s altima as a loaner car time after time while they went about fixing it, yeah. Pretty shameful. Its a tie with my Jeep for least reliable car Ive owned, but unlike the Jeep, it actually stranded me on the side of the road once.

I really want a F40. :driving: But those are like hens teeth. And if you find one. They want a kings ransom. Even if it's in rough shape. :shakes head:

My 2013 Grand Cherokee TrailHawk has been great. Have taken it on 5 cross country trips. Plus it gets flat towed behind the motorhome.

My 2011 Z has only been back to the dealership once. And that was for the steering sensor adjustment on the rack for when I installed the FI LTH's.

It doesn't skips over bumpers in turns like you describe.

That's why I gave up on owning one. :shakes head: To even get a basket case and to redo it will cost both balls.

True. Really though, that's just out of my income/viability range. I make around 6 figures a year (barely), and have a house, land, etc. to deal with. If I were older and had all of it paid off, I still wouldn't invest that much in 1 single-use item. A retirement estate, maybe, but not a car.

Everything I have is paid for. The Jeep, Z, PowerWagon, bike, house. I still have some payments on the motorhome. That was $328,000 new. When I retired. I was making over $150,00 a year. When my wife retired. She was making over $140,000 a year. Last year, I paid taxes on $98,000 retirement income.

Solid. I pay all of my bills, etc. (Not dual income, never will be) and am only 33, so there is a ways to go, but Im aiming to end up where you are. My tastes are less expensive, though. I just want to retire and be left alone asap, while still having my land and class 3 firearm hobby.

Grand Cherokee TrailHawk was made for only one year, 2013. Then reappeared a couple of years later with less off road equipment. I got the lower diff gears, the rear axle is a electro/hydraulic diff. Going from 20% lock to 95% lock. You never feel it doing it's thing. Rockrails were standard equipment, now they are an option. The whole belly is skid plate, the later years is an option. Basically all the off road equipment that was standard in 2013, is an option on the later years. I've done some 4wheeling with it out in Colorado, NM, and around home.

Odd. My 2010 had all that stuff plus ELSD up front, and 0-100% lock. Seems they nerfed them every year after 2010 with regard to offroad stuff.
