Me too!

I don't know as I've never the need to research them. For your sake, I hope you never have problems with yours.

Exactly. I have nothing against Hyundai, Kia or Alfa. Hell, my other car is a Fiat 500L Trekking, and I love driving that thing!

And an update!!!
:

There was a time a few years back I would've not driven anything American. Just like there was a time I would've never bought a Hyundai. But from where I sit today. Hyundai and GM have come up quite a bit. This Chevy ford transmission merger. Didn't come out as good as it should've. But I won't have that problem. My transmission is the same exact 8 in the vette as well as the engine. I know for a fact it's one of the most reliable transmissions on the market. If I had a concern it would be my MRC. But the corvette/camaro MRC is rated higher in quality and performance over Ferrari. Our MRC drastically changes the feel of the suspension with each toggle. Ferrari is more singular in feel with each change of the dial. It's crazy the car mags even decided to compare the Chevy suspension to a Ferrari n like the Chevy mire...
TC and competitive mode are insane and my Brembos are still gripping hard despite track use. It's a solid car. I don't fret. Are there improvents in build quality that can be addressed? At 44k a mid 11 second 1.1g car with every necessary and some unnecessary options in the book is gonna have some room for improvement in terms of quality? Yes...
Is it poor quality? Not at all. Its twice as good as the Camaro 5 n I actually liked the 5. But couldn't bring myself to buy it. But the performance on this one is so good! I actually traded my Z. 19,000 miles later im still impressed. In this amount of time when I had my Z. I had put 17,000 miles. And it was an amazing car... I put near 50,000 amazing miles on my Z. But this right here is honestly some next level shyt. It drives like an exotic though it may not look like one. Chevy did amazing in my book. N I had a budget stretched out to 80k when I bought my car. All I did was try to focus on the drive and not brands. It was either gonna be the Alfa the vette or Camaro. I got scared of the quadrifoglio. N rightfully so. Them things live in a shop. And though the vette had a better sitting position and look. I had more room and virtually the same driving experience in a Camaro. Just higher up.
So I took the Camaro. I'm battling with going up to a ZL1 or waiting for the GTV? Im hoping they'll get the quad issues fixed soon. I really think Alfa is striving to put out a reliable car. I have faith.

Did they make pricing concrete? If it ranges between 70 and 140k? I think that'll be fair for the power and performance considering the FM layout..

For that amount you could grab a '16 911 turbo like I did. Porsche's are far better than the vettes. Only muscle car I would get is the viper acr

. All this hard talk about I'd never this or that... FFS let's get bloody real here, we're all driving Nissans gang! No better than GM. To think otherwise is comical. Nissan isn't even the best of the Japanese brands for that matter.
The only thing that's working for Nissan anymore is they happen to produce 2 unicorn sports cars. The rest is mostly Asian trash.

Yup. Since I got rid of my Jeep and have been driving Mazdas, life has gotten way better. 100% JDM, preferably Toyota/Mazda/Lexus (models made in Japan, only), for me. (I had a 370Z, and it had a host of QA/QC issues which led to dumping it before the 3/36 went out).

Truth, my 370Z showed me that Nissan is the Chrysler of Japan. Grinding transmission that got worse when it rained (wtf?), brake warping issues, power-steering pump louder than an '03 Terminator's SC. Glitch NAV that would black-screen from time to time. Got rid of it at the 34K mile mark as I recall (and bought an actual Chrysler, which I regretted, rofl!) Have since gone over to Mazda, put about 100K miles on the CX5 platform, and now with my CX5 Turbo find it a pretty solid blend of performance vs. luxury vs. daily usefulness. Definitely gone over to the Toyota/Lexus/Mazda (models made JDM only) camp.

I don't know about Nissan being the Chrysler of Japan. That's a bit harsh.

The only "real" issue I have with my Z is that the damn seatbelts gett wet when it rains hard. That, the crappy clutch still sucks even with the RJM v.3 pedal installed, and the fact that the car comes base with a stupid open diff.

Other than that, I'm quite happy with my Z, though I'm still fighting with those clunking BC coilovers in the rear and now the RJM pedal squeaks all the time. Annoying as hell, but no fault of the car or brand itself.

The A8 tranny has issues in the Corvette. Not sure where you have been.

This is the reason that you break in your car's mechanicals before you going all WOT on them. Sounds like more than the tranny went.

I had an s2000 with tranny problems, was sent to the dealer twice for the 2nd gear grind. One of the worst sports cars I have ever owned. The Z on the other hand has been a charm for the past 6 years, same goes for the 350zDE I had for couple of years and 350zHR for four years. As far as calling it the "Chrysler" of Japan is just plain wrong.

I'm just puzzled what that large flash under the car was and why all of the lights except the brake lights went out.

Also, in all honesty, we were doing a safe and respectful speed. We were just trying to get to that speed quickly.

I've got a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee TrailHawk 5.7 Hemi, with 80,000 miles on it. It's been prefect. Also have a 2008 PowerWagon 5.7 Hemi, with 80,000 miles on it. I beat on this truck and it's never let me down.

Samples of one. Somewhere out there is a Jeep owner with 200K miles and nothing gone wrong. I'm just saying people dog on Nissan, and both my Nissan and Infiniti products had issues, so I moved on. My Mazda products have been much more reliable so far, and I've put more miles on 'em.

I honestly have no idea. Your guess is as good as mine. If you care enough, cruise the Chevy dealers for the next couple of days and if you spot his car in service, ask "What's wrong with that one?" and most techs don't care about privacy and will tell you.

Yep. I'm that Jeep owner, however, only 130k so far. The 06 hemi 5.7 has been awesome. It just keeps on truckin!
