The GR86 threatens the 2.0 Supra for sure, but that car was always a dubious production choice IMO. A 2.0 4 banger just doesn’t fit the Supra legacy, just as it wouldn’t fit the Z legacy.

I think the 3.0 Supra and new Z, however, are safe enough from the GR86. They are both 400-ish HP 6 banger coupes that compete in a slightly different market to the ‘low power, low weight, low cost’ GR86, BRZ and MX-5.
