They messed up in my opinion, big time. By dropping the ball on this one, it will give Nissan the opportunity to release a new Z and take a hold of the market, hopefully.
Exterior Design: I think it's decent, not the best looking car but not the worst. The concept was beautiful, I have no idea why they veered so far away from that design. If they retained the concept design, it would have worked in their favor and put them far ahead of the competition. 7/10. Interior Design: Really? You literally copied the Z4 from BMW. For crying out loud, your have a company under your ownership called Lexus, you could have taken their interior design of the LC and taken it up a notch or two. You could of given us something extraordinary and set the benchmark in the segment. But no. 5/10. Engine: I feel as if a in depth perspective is not required. Again, you took a unreliable BMW engine and threw it into the "Supra". How creative. You could have brought back the 2JZ and baptized it so that it would be made for the 21st century. 5/10. Overall, I'm dissapointed with the car as a whole. We waited years for this? Right. I stand by the philosophy of "If you're going to do something, do it right with all of your effort". Overall score: 17/30. |

Fake vents are all the rage right now! So hot!!! |
Not to hate on the Supra, but it is not as special as I thought it would be. It took Toyota forever to bring this to market and they dropped the ball IMHO. So-so HP, so-so looks. Just not my taste.

0-60 time is impressive. I hope it isn't a one-trick pony(car), and can handle a turn or two.
I still maintain that nobody is cross-shopping a Toyota with a Porsche, but having some convenience, a nice interior, some creature comforts, and still being able to throw the car around will give performance oriented drivers an option. That weight still bothers me, though. Has to affect acceleration, braking and cornering adversely. I'm afraid that they created a fat grand tourer butter-knife instead of a track scalpel. Hopefully, some clever people will discover that much of the heft is surplus to requirements, and can be shed without making the car un-liveable. |

Looks ..ok.. performance just ok for price.
Original Supra was Toyota. Problem is, this is a German car in a kimono. If I want a BMW I'll buy a BMW, pay for it yes, but get a pure model. |

One of the biggest positives about the A80/2JZ was its ability to handle big HP out of the stock block and gearbox.
I don't think for one minute this one will have been built to be able to do the same, so in the end it will be just another 'meh' JP coupe. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk |

It just seems to me Toyota didn't take this very seriously. Why not build an all original body and use a high performance engine from Lexus? That would have made a lot more sense to me. |
If it's fun to drive and allows it to remain affordable, sure why not.
