This guy doing something I dreamed of: putting a prototype or F1 engine in a street car, except I was envisioning a mid-engine car like an NSX....and I'd have to win the lotto to keep it running.
Also surprised he couldn't just source some kind of spec rolling chassis vs a complete car. I though Daigo Saito got one to dump a 2JZ into. |
Doesn't fix the car, but I like it. |

that will never happen though. I don't think those pillars even fit in the trunk

Saw a new Supra for the 2nd time ever today. Gray. Very nice coupe... but I still think our current generation Z looks better.

I wouldn't say no to the B58 engine in my Z though. ;) Hopefully the VR30DDTT in the Z35 can match up to the B58 in the Supra. |
I'm just jealous of how easy it is for Supra owners to push 400+ with just a simple tune and downpipe. Faster than a hellcat

The GR Supra Sport has good styling particularly the rear.

I have to admit - I really do like the new Supra. I mean, the ease of power that it makes with a tune and light mods really make it a contender. IF ONLY IT HAD A 6MT haha. Granted I do want to take one for a test drive to see how it drives and how I FIT in it since it does look a little smaller than the Z.
And with the Supra not holding it's value like lets say the Honda CTR - you should be able to pick one up used for a great price in a year or 2 :) |
What are your thoughts on trading a TT 370Z for a Supra. It seems thise B58s have so much potential and how easily the Supra is damm fast with simple mods.
I see youtube videos where they keep up neck and neck with alot of 370Z turbo setups when the Supra has just basic mods and a tune. The supra has been growing alot on me lately and now I am thinking of selling my Z to fund towards the Supra, or keep spending money building motor and trans on my Z. For some reason it's a hard choice for me, I love my Z but the Supra is growing on me fast. |

Ontop of that, I saw a youtube video of a guy who was at the Nissan Museum or HQ, and he went up very close to the new Z, and looked underneath it as much as possible and saw that the suspension system is the same as the 370Z. And that much of the interior is basically the same as well with just a few minor touches, retrim and updated dash. To me, i feel like that would be spending a whole lot of money on a car I already have! I don't know, guess I will just have to wait till it is out here in Australia and take one for a test drive. |
With the recent California smog update to ECU inspections, I'm starting to question the future of my Z...particularly if I'm going to have no choice to turn it into a track car or who knows what — but full intent of keeping it. Really hoping one of the tuners here comes up with a CARB compliant solution.
And that being said, cars like the Supra and the CTR have suddenly become relevant. Don't get me wrong, good cars, but before this, I had zero interest. They're just something to settle with because I'm clearly only interested if I need a replacement daily sports car. |

Regardless keep us updated - in particular if you get a Supra ;) |
