C8 mid-engine corvette. GM loves their people.

Looks a lot shorter than the current C7...I like it. Alot. Ferrari-esq.

The 458/488 is the bench mark. So yea it's going to look something like those. Honda did the something with the new NSX.

A Ferrari costs $30,000 a year to maintain. A corvette. The most expensive part is tires... Just sayin.

If you want a C8 corvette I can point you toward the salesman/dealership that will sell you one for MSRP. Don't fall for those price gouging dealerships with no knowledge of the Corvette.

The 30,000 mile maintenance is a killer. That's when the clutch gets replaced. The 5 year mark. You get to replace the bladder in the fuel cell.

All depends on what Ferrari - some clutches are engine out of chassis. For those, be prepared to bend over and let a dealership have his way with you. Others are easier.

There is no question that operating costs of a Corvette will not approach those of a true exotic. And if you don't take your temperamental Italian mistress to a dealership or factory certified mechanic for service, you risk de-valuing your car. Plus, given the depreciation that comes with putting miles on a true exotic, many owners don't want to ever get the car to the point of needing a major service. Sad fact.

The Vette is a Chevy, OTOH, and will share many parts and service techniques/mechanics with other GM product. Which is fantastic since that makes it attainable for most of us who will only ever afford to look at a picture of a Lamborghini, Bugatti, or Ferrari anyway. Those cars are meant for people who don't really ever ask the cost of something. Still, it's nice that there are auto aficionados out there like that. The world would be a poorer place for not seeing the occasional prancing horse or charging bull speed past.

1/4 mile in 9.4

But wait... There's more!!! There's a 1200up version that's even faster!!!

Love the comments. The one guy posted this.

1,200 HP? Given the typical age of a Corvette buyer, those HP will really come in handy when the driver takes his car
to the drug store for Geritol
to the Social Security office to pick up his monthly check
to the bank to deposit his Social Security Check
to the doctor to get hearing aids fitted

Yes, these HP will really come in handy

More younger folks have bought the C7 corvette than any other model. Go figure. I hear ya on those comments. That was a good laugh. Most don't even drive the cars, they just sit in the garage. What a shame.

Probably so...there is a reason why GM
would not place the Chevy badge on any Corvette.
Just like any car manufacturers like our own Nissan they make crappy Sentras, Versa, Maxima and Vans.
H

But for some reason they do it right or better with the GTR and Z cars.
Just like to Ferrari they have half boiled lemons as the likes of Alfa and Massaratti.

With the exception of the 4C off course.

Just smoked what you wantef to
smoke ...lol

Exactly. The C7 corvette build quality eclipses all other generations. No creeking and rattling in my camaro yet? Power is amazing...

And as for corvette? They are built in their own factory by corvette specialists in bowling green Kentucky!!! Not in a factory with Malibu's and Cruze's

My buddy's C7 Vette built quality is chit. Paint thin enough to see the primer. Seats that the sticthing is coming loose. And the motor that had to be replaced because of metal chips in the oil passages. Plus the radio that works part of the time.
