Go out big with a 560Z on a tweaked current chassis. Blow the doors off the domestics and keep it cheap with off the shelf parts. Even the early truck line of 5.6 motors were easily 500HP capable...they've been detuned for daily driver activities in trucks, but a 500HP 5.6 V8 in something as small as a Z would be a whole lotta fun, especially with a tire smoking manual.

Sadly, it'll never happen. Nissan isn't what it used to be. Selling tons of CVT equipped slugs is about as far away from the performance market as you can get.

A 560Z would be a dream come true.

Can you imagine the buzz a V8 powered Z would create for Nissan? I love it!!

Would love the idea but that would be far cry from happening as that will further kill the sales of the GTR....for giving a Z a v8.

A Z Titan truck maybe?!!:wtf2:

Yeah, good luck fitting the Titan 5.6 into a driveable version of the z chassis. Have you looked at it? I spin tires on my 5,300 lb Titan. The z is no lightweight, but it would stand on its nose, let alone the cooling. Or the clutch - if the z had decent torque and went on a diet, it would be fine as is. But the existing transmissions won’t deal with V8 torque. All for 390hp (tuned to whatever you believe you can get out of it). Then there’s the fuel economy elephant in the room.

In all honesty, you’d need a racing license to handle a 500hp Z without a shipload of other mods anyway. That wouldn’t be cheap.

That’s why you won’t see one. At least not on store shelves. Do what you like with your own, though.

So the word is that the 370Z model will be replaced by the 400Z model in 2020 is that solid?

You can take it to the bank.

(they'll return it for NSF, but by then they'll never find you. Muwahahaha!).

No, the next Z won't be out until 2030. And it will have a flux capacitor, and will be able to go to plaid drive. :driving:

They'd have to stretch the wheelbase about 6"" to realistically pull it off.

A VQ engine isn't exactly small either....

As for handling it...Other companies are selling 700+ HP monsters...this wouldn't be any less safe than any of those, and it would give the Z the low end toque it is so very much lacking with the V6.

Believe it or not, a Nissan dealer just took my $10,000 down payment for the next generation Z.
