Tesla unveils new sports car...

0 60 in 1.9 sec and over 600 miles in range. Sports cars are dying??

JARblue 11-17-2017 08:28 AM

So if Tesla is unveiling a new sports car, why would you think sports cars are dying? :icon14:

Changing, sure. But until they pry the steering wheel out of my cold dead fingers, my Z will never die. Or until I am no longer able to source parts for it.

Rhetorical question. (I guess it's a bit early for such discussion :icon14:) I don't, however, from what I've read on this forum, many seem to think so.

It's group think. Sports cars are alive and well, just not at Nissan...

You felt the need to start the thread for a rhetorical question? :icon14: :icon17:

6spd nailed it. Nissan isn't too interested in sports cars any more it seems. But there are others who are and are doing well :driving:

Yes, one that you didn't understand.

Fyi, Nobody forced you to leave a comment.

I understood what you posted just fine. You made a statement and then posed a follow up question as though to elicit a completely contradictory response and then called it rhetorical. What I didn't understand is why you posted it. You didn't have to take it as an attack because it certainly wasn't intended as one.

Frankly, I'd love to drive a car that does 0-60 in 1.9 secs. I was hoping you'd provide more details on it. I'm too lazy to search :p **edit** I guess it's just the new roadster .. so not really a new model

This one? Tesla Shocks Us With New 2020 Roadster, Does 0-60 In 1.9 Sec! There are definitely a lot of good photos :yum:

Btw, you can just copy and paste the URL into your post. The forum will automatically add the necessary tags to link it using information from the linked page.

I'm sorry but there just seems to be something missing with an electric car. I want to shift gears and feel the engine revving. Sure the Tesla is fast as **** but doesn't mean it's as fun to drive.

Takes 18hrs to charge. Just kidding but I'm sure with a 600mi range it's going to take along time to charge without rapid charge which destroys the battery.

The thing sounds amazing (well, it will be silent, but the performance, prototype/renderings, and even the price do).

In fact, it sounds too good to be true. And you all know what that usually means...

Announcing new cars when he can't even deliver the Model 3 ones people have bought. Sounds like some former turbo kit makers here.

It takes the focus off the failures, though. :tiphat:

Musk is a brilliant salesman. He must be, as he's managed to get every level of government and many investors to give him money for every venture he's launched, though he's really yet to make any profit. He makes lots of promises. He makes very few cars. The vehicles that he does produce are brilliant in many ways, but don't rank particularly high on reliability.
