It's all about the price point. The V6 Mustang keeps hitting the magic price point, the Camaro's keep overshooting it slightly. I like the new design of both vehicles although I think the Camaro is physically too big, if they shrunk some of that sheet metal it would also loose a few pounds.

My problem with the camaro was that it simply was the worst car I've ever owned from a maintenance point of view. I had a 1995 and dumped more money into it trying to keep it running than all my other cars combined (6 fords and a nissan). Th engine was bulletproof but everything around it just kept breaking. I hope the new camaro fairs better but the old one was just an absolute hunk of junk.

I dont disagree at all - many people buy for the image alone, so they simply bought the cheaper fake muscle car - so, the V6 it was lol.

Cars that dominate the really tight turn radius tracks like EVO's, WRX's and the like suck. Cars that do the best on a medium track with some straights but not too much rule, like the 370Z, and cars that do well on tracks with very long straights and few turns or strips like the 2011 Mustang is most likely to do suck. Simple really.......

I've owned 3 Mustangs, 00 v6, 88 GT 5-speed (5.0), 04 GT. I also drove the 04 Cobra on multiple occasions and I can testify that no matter what your motor makes live axle is limiting period. I used to be like a few people posting on there that support the live axle but no matter what it's just not fun. It is also limiting on a everyday drive. If you travel on a highway that is made up of a series of large curves a la wangtagh highway, southern state parkway for those of you familiar with Long Island, NY. On highways like that you can feel the limitations on a Mustang. My 2004 GT had springs shocks and struts and I would still have problems through the turns against 5 series BMW's. You will let off the gas or you will lose control and it's all because of your live axle. So in the end, make all the power you want on the back straights you'll catch up but you will feel your handling limitations everyday. Trust me...I've been there and I've seen the light!

The very fact that this thread has racked up 12 pages so quickly just shows that people in here are insecure about other cars being faster than our Zs... grow up - they will keep getting faster and better - enjoy your car and DRIVE
