Genesis G70, the luxury Stinger!!!
https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/...dr/first-drive
Seriously guys, the G70 looks even better than the stinger. Addresses the quality issues some state. Is directly competitive to a 340i or Q50. Has features like LAUNCH CONTROL on every model. And is just a handsome package. The Genesis brand is hitting the mark thus far. Hyundai has overcome huge feats in design and performance in 8 years. And the 5 years before that they proved their reliability. Sure they've had some rattles and the AISIN transmission had issues. But they went in house and fixed those issues. I think that's amazing!!! Just when they are getting their performance edge. This is what their. CEO predicts... deadspin-quote-carrot-aligned-w-bgr-2<\/title><path d="M10,3.5l3-3,3,3Z" style="fill:%23fff;stroke:%23fff"/><path d="M0,3.5H10l3-3,3,3H26" style="fill:none;stroke:%231b3a4d"/><\/svg>')}.f_branding_on.blog-group-deadspin .editor-inner.post-content .pu So basically, he's telling the world gas engine performance is almost obsolete and heritage will mean nothing shortly. Not a way to sell your brand new performance cars are on sport oriented chassis. No N division due to electric performance??? Only if we could all support Ferrari who refuses to make electric cars. |

Wow im liking the G70 especially the interior it really craps on the German and Japanese competitors lol
|
Man that's an impressive ride. I still love how Hyundai is pushing that envelope a bit further and raising that bar a bit higher.

Americans wanted the GTR. It's not doing well vs it's pre entry demand. They wanted the euro spec focus, after years of crying, they didn't buy it, now it's gone. They wanted Alfa a to come back. Now that they're here all they talk is unreliability. The car hasn't been on American soil long enough to even know if it's reliable. What do u expect from the only nation pushing for 26 genders as a national standard so aggressively? Smh. Can u imagine, 26 restrooms at the movie theater? Our car market and everything else has been ruined by pansies. |
That thing is GORGEOUS!!!
|
People have just lost that thrill for driving excitement...I absolutely love the fact that other manufacturers are giving us what WE are looking for. The GTR is an incredible machine but at those prices you'd be better off with a newer Stingray or a Camaro...just as much bang for less buck!!

As a camaro owner though. I can say, the cornering capability is shockingly amazing. There's a learning curve to it cuz of the size. But once u master a camaro. It is one of the most rewarding cars you can drive. Going back to the G70. I think they are going to offer near bespoke outlining like the mini coppers? If this rumor is true? This is gonna be an awesome car to own, because you can very possibly have a one of a kind original. N that would be awesome. |
They are beautiful cars. If the Koreans can get their transmissions refined, then I'm game.
|
My cousin just got a brand new 4cyl Camaro...read that one of those things ran high 13s with a tune and plenty weight reduction....I'm still shocked. God bless technology lol
|
I want to see a Genesis SUV.

It may be pretty but typically Hyundai resale values are awfull. Look at sales numbers for Cadenza how they have had a hard time selling them. Not even Lebronze James can help them sell it.

I'm in the market for one and have not seen what I like. Volvo is the closest but overpriced.
If anything what we have enough of are |
LoL American muscle cars.
|
I just want an exotic...I'd still probably find something to gripe about it lol

You can look at the glass half empty or half full. It's funny cuz we are enthusiasts talking about resale value? This is a car that makes 365hp at 6,000 rpm, makes 376lbs of torque at 1300rpm. The G70 is expected to get to 60 in about 4.4 seconds n expected to start in the low 40's. It's a v6 on top of that so it will have more grunt than the Alfa n be the same weight. This will be an interesting battle. Then you have the old school. The BMW 340i and Q50 sport and red sport depending on price. They're all fighting for the crown. Sadly, jaguar started strong and already fell off with the XE. It's crazy nobody took a moment to just think about the performance to price value of these cars? |
You're right man...that resell on newer model vehicles is just bland. Too many are still in production or can be bought for a reasonable price. It's one reason I went with a 370 over a 50. The price point. It was too close not to stick with a newer and better vehicle. I tell you though, these Korean car companies are on to something. Just an age old formula of see what's in production and bring something out a hair more exciting.

You be on all those new awesome obscure vehicles bro lol it's awesome! Kutgw!!

I like this better than the stinger maybe because of the genesis name looks more prestigious lol Wish they made a manual for the top of the line G70, but this car blows away the European, American and Japanese competitors in the mid luxury sedan segment in exterior and interior looks at is it is sexy as the Alfa Romeo Gulia.

At $46,000 for a top line maxima. I'd be in a G70 or stinger in a heartbeat. A maxima at this given moment is obsolete. Thanks to Hyundai. |

Though not a review from a professional driver. I think he captures the enthusiast level of the general population. His reviews do show a love for design engineering and basic sporty performance.
The 2.0 G70 seems like a fairly capable car. Though the trunk is small. Don't think this will kill the Giulia. https://youtu.be/xPWZuqlr0ds |
Looks like the early 1990's again where Japanese brands like Lexus and Infiniti were making game changers in the sedan segments against the Europeans. But this time it is the Koreans, even though SUVs are still dominating the sales market. This article is interesting.

Will Genesis have a rough start based on the fact. Genesis dealers don't open till next week. They went the extra mile for that competitive saloon entry. Mad props to the Hyundai corporation

Car sounds impressive. I think by the refresh. This car will be a force to be reckoned with. Same with the STINGER. Germany is gonna have to make advanced sudden changes at their price points. Color me impressed. |
Bold statement. Says G70 better than the competition. After driving the stinger I'd say it's possible...
I like the part in the article where they exclaim its not a track car. Reminds me of the guy who posted on here Hyundai sucks because his friends Equus blew its engine on a racetrack. :roflpuke2::icon17: https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-car...ap-road-video/ |

I can't wait to see a face off between this and the Alfa Giulia. That will be interesting. |

Really depends on which car you pick from each stable. You certainly cannot pick any Stinger/Genesis to go up against a Giulia Q. The 3.3GT AWD vs the Giulia 2.0T Q4 Veloce is maybe a reasonable comparison, and the Stinger has it by a whisker based on 90 more HP (is also slightly more expensive than the Alfa in that trim), and for equal money I'm sorry but the Kia isn't going to get my business. Head to head, here: http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel6976-6552.htm The performance difference is more telling (in favour of the Stinger) when comparing base to base, but again the Stinger is the more expensive car. http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel7081-6761.htm (those are European list prices, so maybe the US market is different, and I went with the Stinger as its prices are on that site whereas the G70's not yet). I suspect that in the used market, the cars will be fairly similarly priced. That's when you need to decide in your own mind if the Koreans have "made it" into that echelon yet or not. I think they are close, and things like a wide dealer network also work in their favour. But I'd have to really love the test drive to buy a Kia/Gensis over an Alfa at the same money, let alone a premium for the Korean. YMMV. |
