At $46,000 for a top line maxima. I'd be in a G70 or stinger in a heartbeat. A maxima at this given moment is obsolete. Thanks to Hyundai.

As a Nissan fanboy I also agree. This G70 would make an excellent DD now I just have to sell my current DD 04 acura tsx and find a 2nd job lol.

Though not a review from a professional driver. I think he captures the enthusiast level of the general population. His reviews do show a love for design engineering and basic sporty performance.

The 2.0 G70 seems like a fairly capable car. Though the trunk is small. Don't think this will kill the Giulia.

Looks like the early 1990's again where Japanese brands like Lexus and Infiniti were making game changers in the sedan segments against the Europeans. But this time it is the Koreans, even though SUVs are still dominating the sales market. This article is interesting.

Will Genesis have a rough start based on the fact. Genesis dealers don't open till next week. They went the extra mile for that competitive saloon entry. Mad props to the Hyundai corporation

Car sounds impressive. I think by the refresh. This car will be a force to be reckoned with. Same with the STINGER. Germany is gonna have to make advanced sudden changes at their price points. Color me impressed.

Bold statement. Says G70 better than the competition. After driving the stinger I'd say it's possible...

I like the part in the article where they exclaim its not a track car. Reminds me of the guy who posted on here Hyundai sucks because his friends Equus blew its engine on a racetrack. :roflpuke2::icon17:

I can't wait to see a face off between this and the Alfa Giulia. That will be interesting.

It's been done with the Stinger - since 2017.
Really depends on which car you pick from each stable.

You certainly cannot pick any Stinger/Genesis to go up against a Giulia Q.

The 3.3GT AWD vs the Giulia 2.0T Q4 Veloce is maybe a reasonable comparison, and the Stinger has it by a whisker based on 90 more HP (is also slightly more expensive than the Alfa in that trim), and for equal money I'm sorry but the Kia isn't going to get my business.

Head to head, here:

The performance difference is more telling (in favour of the Stinger) when comparing base to base, but again the Stinger is the more expensive car.

(those are European list prices, so maybe the US market is different, and I went with the Stinger as its prices are on that site whereas the G70's not yet).

I suspect that in the used market, the cars will be fairly similarly priced. That's when you need to decide in your own mind if the Koreans have "made it" into that echelon yet or not. I think they are close, and things like a wide dealer network also work in their favour. But I'd have to really love the test drive to buy a Kia/Gensis over an Alfa at the same money, let alone a premium for the Korean. YMMV.

Me too... My preference is the Giulia. But it would be interesting to see how close the genesis has come. The stinger is heavier and longer. So the G70 has to be the competitor. My curiosity lies more in handling than equal performance.

It will be very interesting to see if the aftermarket goes after that 2.0T in the G70, because then we would have a RWD premium sedan with a manual transmission and LSD with brembo brakes available with tuning potential that could get the car to outperform the stock V6.

A grand slam would be the manual transmission with the V6... maybe they'll do it. I would love to try one out in the 2.0 either way to see how it drives.

All inclusive lease makes the G70 and other models super competitive.

The important part of all this... from the Stinger or G70. It's a BRAND NEW entry. Having a brand new entry is what pushes forward interest. Alfa n Hyundai took huge risks in the lame, one sided, mind controlled, immunized, fluoridated and GMO'd American drone market and tried to give us what we ask for that we always later push away.

Americans wanted the GTR. It's not doing well vs it's pre entry demand. They wanted the euro spec focus, after years of crying, they didn't buy it, now it's gone. They wanted Alfa a to come back. Now that they're here all they talk is unreliability. The car hasn't been on American soil long enough to even know if it's reliable. What do u expect from the only nation pushing for 26 genders as a national standard so aggressively? Smh. Can u imagine, 26 restrooms at the movie theater?

Our car market and everything else has been ruined by pansies.

Lets be fair, the GTR costs more than its competitors in some cases, and the Focus was a ticking timebomb. Also, the initial service costs and warranty voiding issues with the GTR soured many.

Wouldn't touch Alfa with a 10ft pole owned by someone else. I value reliability above all else, at least to the extent that the car isn't a flaming POS, which Alfas are.

Why are you quoting my comment to make a point with no correlation AT ALL to my comment?
