Got the wife her dream car today... Hurricane Irma sale...

I got the wife her dream car today. It is a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport convertible. Black with Gray interior, Black wheels, and Black top. I will post a picture later once I figure how where to host it from since the Photoshop fiasco.

Spooler 09-08-2017 11:49 PM

I am not a convertible guy due to all the buffeting wind noise they commonly have. This one actually does not. Roll the windows up and it is just as quite as my Nismo. It was impressive.

Nice!

You can create and album, add the pics there and post the IMG link to the thread.

Congratulations. That's a sharp looking ride. Lucky lady!

Rusty 09-10-2017 12:44 AM

The wife seen the pictures on her FB page.

Wish you would have never posted the pictures on FB. Now I'm getting hammered. :rofl2:

Yea, she seen them. :shakes head: All you got to do is sell a couple of puppies to pay for the Vette. I have to sell my soul.

And?

Sounds like a fair trade to me. Not like you can DRIVE your soul...

:driving:

Because you can sleep in a car, but you can't race a house...

Congratulations on the New 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Edition

Spooler 09-16-2017 10:41 PM

Drove the car out to eat tonight. The 500 mile rev-limit at 4500 rpm is brutally boring to break the engine in. Car handles very good and is extremely comfortable on touring mode with the magnetic shocks. I prefer the sport setting though.

Z-Girl 12 09-17-2017 07:29 AM

Congrats!

Spooler 09-17-2017 01:19 PM

Well, now I understand why guys go from a 370z to a Vette. I am not a Vette person at all and this car is impressive in the handling department. No doubt making me re-think things.

Spooler 09-22-2017 07:47 PM

I had the windows tinted today, much better. LOL Can anybody recommend a picture hosting site so I can post pictures.

Imgur still works. But if you upload them as attachnents here, then link to the attachment's URL, the sizing issues seem to go away.

Looking forward to family snaps!

UNKNOWN_370 09-23-2017 03:20 PM

Excellent choice. Congratulations!!

SINISTER 09-23-2017 06:17 PM

I went form a Vette to a 370z....of course I had a 2008 and a 2013 not the new one. Never driven a new one... However, I did not like the handling feel, kinda like a boat compared to the 370z Nismo, ....less planted, less fun to drive IMOP definitely faster fo sure...Have fun!

It's the wifes. I still have my Nismo. I do enjoy the vette though. It is very nice and it is extremely tempting to just nut up and order a Z06 to my liking.

Spooler 10-04-2017 12:04 PM

Took the week off to detail the Vette and my Nismo. Still working on the Vette. It had water spots from H E double hockey sticks. Just about done so I can coat it with Ammo Reflex, Ammo Skin, and then a paste wax. My new Rupes orbital's are awesome. It is soo much easier to polish a car than it was back in the 80's and 90's. Yes, I use to use a Rotory polisher. These DA's are easy. My Nismo is next.

Rusty 10-04-2017 02:18 PM

You want to do mine. While I sit back drinking a beer and watch you work? :rofl2:

No thanks, It is taking 2 1/2 days to do each of mine. I just about done with the Nismo. I have been polishing all day and will finish that up tomorrow. I have the back bumper to do. Then it will be coating time, wait 2 hours and apply sealer. I gotta jump on a plan Sunday, I have to finish tomorrow. Ugg.

100 gal of diesel. 7.5 mpg. 2200 miles one way. Avg gal is around $3.25.

2200 miles Div by 7.5 = 294 gals x 3.25 = $956 one way x 2 = $1912 round trip, or there abouts.

Oh, Bobby is in Az. And you would have to clean it again when we get back.

Motor home is ready to go. You pay for the fuel, and stock the fridge. Have Yeti for other stuff.

Spooler 09-25-2018 12:51 PM

We have had the car just over a year. Wife still loves it. No issues with it at just over 3500 miles. 2 free oil changes done and the last free one in the future.
