Mazda RX-9 to be revealed in October at Tokyo
Summary:
-400-450hp turbo rotary -Under 3000 lbs -Price Estimated 70-80k As a diehard Mazda guy for the longest time (400hp 94 Mazda 626, 95 MX6 autocross car, 10 Mazda 5, 13 Mazda 6, 13 CX9), I'm super excited for this if it is indeed true. Would be cool to see a 90s reunion with the Supra, next generation Z, and now the RX-9. Thoughts everyone?! |
In before the 245hp, 3500lb. RX-9 is released. :icon17:

Mazda needs to make up their damn mind if they're going to keep playing with the rotary or kill it off like they've said they were going to multiple times.
|
Im excited!!!! My first love (automotively speaking) was my '87 RX-7 Turbo II... Still lust over FD's even with my Z.
|
If Mazda's smart, they wouldn't waste time developing such a car for it to be anything less than extraordinary. But then again, look at the Miatas they keep releasing... *yawn*

Mine too!!! Except mine wasnt a turbo II but it was tons of fun! :driving: |
I'll be extremely surprised if this is ever released. I don't think it's gonna happen. Sports cars are not selling, especially two-seaters. Furthermore, don't forget why the rotary was killed off. It had horrible fuel economy and no longer met emissions requirements. It also consumed oil by design but most could not live with that fact.

Mazda has officially announced the rx9 concept for 6 years. I'll believe it when I see it.

INB4 Vaporware.

Heard there was a new Z for 2018 too.

I wish Mazda make up their minds on bringing back the rx vision. Now this article states they will show the rx vision concept again at the upcoming Tokyo Auto show in October.
