Yes. The vette to me is the next logical upgrade from the Z whether it's a C6 or C7.

Nice NISMO wheels on the 'vette!

It's a trade-up for sure

I did do that after my 2010 NISMO. Bought a 12 GS manual with 2LT interior. Red with black wheels, ZR-1 spoiler. Far superior to the Z in every way that counts. Not going to get into interior crap but I honestly just don't care. I buy sports cars for how they drive. Obviously the Vette is faster. The Z handles better in my opinion than a regular Vette but the GS Vette handles better than the Z. It's just a better car all the way around

that all being said I loved my 09 sport/touring and 10 NISMO, but the VDC really killed the fun factor on the car. You could never just have fun with the Z unless you turned it off, which we all know increases risk factor and many fellow owners have lost their Z from it. The Vette (and pretty much any other car I've driven) has a much better traction control system that allows you to have fun with the car without being too strict. For example, flip a U turn with the Z in a spirted fashion: half way through tires start to spin, VDC kicks in, bogs the car while mild turn, then acceleration kicks back in making is have to adjust steering and throttle to regain heading. Making for a very lack luster U turn and in some cases dangerous if the car bogs for too long while oncoming traffic is coming at you. In the Vette, flip the turn, hit the throttle, have the back end going side ways while counter steering, maintain straight heading as intended and hit 2nd gear spinning the tires again. Get too crazy on your approach angle or too much throttle on exit and TCS kicks in enough to help you straighten out in an intuitive manner while still allowing the car to maintain acceleration.

Next step for me is I'm considering the 2017 or 2018 GS or new Camaro Z1L or just waiting another year or so for the next gen Vette announcement. I've been waiting on the next gen Z but it just never seems to come.

Nope. If I'm going Chevy, I'd get the Camero ZL1. It's an impressive bit of engineering and the best muscle car for the price.

I had the same car ,black,6 sped, 2011GS .one of the best cars I've owned, along with my ex 2008 C6, 2002, & ex 96 C4.Total costs for Unscheduled maintenance over 18 years was $51 on the 2002, a battery on the 96 and on the 2002 also.Reason I sold the 2011 GS was a guy with tons of cash made me an offer I just couldn't refuse.
