Kia is making drivers cars....

Toyota sports cars.... going hybrid.

2020 Toyota GT86 And Subaru BRZ Replacements Expected To Receive Hybrid Tech - autoevolution

Which equals MORE NUMB steering.

Muted engine sounds

Less inspiring ride. Woo-hoo!!

Yeah, but the Sport Package brakes are better. And since the Z isn't a 600+ HP supercar, then I don't see the point in ceramics

You still don't need them! Ceramic brakes are over kill and not needed unless you are doing serious tracking...endurance racing!

Our Z brakes are better than what? I'm lost. Than Rouge brakes? Or better than ceramic brakes?

Ceramics feel amazing but just not necessary on any application. Our brakes need to be re-engineered for weight reduction and improved cooling. Our brakes are very good. Especially at the price point. But we need aftermarket pads. I added the stop tech rotors, brake lines pads n motul rbf 600 to my sport brakes. It was a $700 MOD along with the GTR brake cooling upgrade. $220. I definitely improved brake performance significantly which means that there's a lot of room for improvement on very good Z brakes.

Hopefully next gen well see performance closer to my modded stock Z brakes

So many of you guys have "Get of my lawn" mentality. Its funny. Id be happy if Macy's brought a sports car to the table. So few have the grapes to do it, the more options, the better.

Agreed...I have done the same; SS brake lines, better brake pads, Castro brake fluid (the good stuff lol), APR brake ducts, Stillen brake cooling and Z1 master cylinder brace. So yes there is a lot of room for improvement and if they are wanting to keep up with the competition, they will upgrade the brakes as did Ford and GM have done.

I have a sneaking suspicion you might end up dissapointed. The best I figure we will see is Nissan returning to Brembos again. I hope they do, but I'm not holding my breath. Switching to Akebonos was a cost cutting measure, over the arguably more expensive and better Brembos from the Z33.

I dunno... Just look at the Z34 price point. We already know (or suspect) the 400hp TT setup is coming. Now add Brembos on top and whatever other improvements we want to see over the Z34, shiiiiiiet... We might be asking for a car that really does hit the 60k mark. Would you be willing to pay that price?

I'm secretly hoping Nissan pulls a magic card out of their *** and gives us the car [most] of us want, at a price [most] of us are willing to pay, but I guess time will tell if it actually hits the mark.

You're right in saying that GM and Ford added nice brakes, in addition to a ton of power and pretty nice handling suspensions (or at least way nicer than they did in the past), but one thing they didn't give a crap about was weight- the Z34 uses extensive amounts of aluminum and Nissan did their best to keep the weight down... That in itself isn't cheap. So which would you prefer? I doubt Nissan will give us everything.

If the infiniti doesn't have Brembo? We won't have Brembo. Nissan decided to go parts bin instead of the original plan and giving the Z a proprietary platform. So expect a lot of carry over from the infiniti on the Z.

What does the current 400hp Infiniti use for brakes? I wouldn't be surprised if that's what the new Z gets.
