Author is a freelancer who has no authority in the industry. Just trying to make a living to fill pages in magazines. Another lame attempt to pacify and kill expression in car culture. Who cares what he thinks.

I agree with them all, except the painted brake calipers. It's such a small thing to complain about and I think the right color (relative to the body and wheel colors) really sets off the look.

Indeed some filler/clickbait. There are writers who are only motivated by things to hate on/be critical of, though — acting like they really know better. He has points, but nothing constructive, let alone new. List all over the place, between owner and manufacturer-established "fads"
BUT, can't hate on the writer. He probably is aware of what he was doing. |

What would this forum be like if we were all conformist? That's too boring. Who cares if the guy driving down the street has a bunch of guages to monitor things that are important to him or her. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with lime green, bright yellow or red calipers. They look great. If the guy wants to install a big *** wing because he wants serious downforce let him be. These kinds of articles irritates me the most. Especially those written by a nobody. Now now if it were Bob Lutz or Elon Musk or if he focused solely after manufacturer and factory design trends that is a different story.

That's not a blanket boo-hoo on any and all mods. *Yeah yeah, I know; tasteful is subjective. But I think there's a common-sense line that exists....

Concerning painting brake calipers. That's alright to a point, depending on the car and wheels. But these people that have a stock Saturn and paint their rear DRUM brakes, that's just asking for criticism.
Why on earth would someone want to draw attention to their drum brakes? Oooooo... Sexy! Must be fast! LOL
